Day 266 - A pattern in a mystery object

Pattern Drafting : The Skirt

Starts Wednesday June 2, 6-9pm (skipping June 30)

for 8 sessions

This eight week class will allow students who have worked with a commercial pattern before to learn a wide array of basic skirt drafting manipulations and techniques in order to design, draft and make their own skirt. Some of the topics covered include: waistlines, flares, gathering, yokes, gores, pleats, godets, circle skirts, pockets, buttonholes and closures. Students will then spend a couple classes drafting their own skirt pattern and the final classes will be spent constructing and finishing the skirt.

By Sherrie Thai of ShaireProductions. Feel free to download and use these as a background for commercial or noncommercial projects. If you decide to use them, please let me know how it goes by sending a link or an image. Enjoy!

Not quite classic Zentangle... But close, once I figured out how to draw this pattern inspired by a gourd (rattle? flask?) from the NYC Am. Museum of Natural History. It's all about spacing, spirals and rounding, after all.

I call this pattern Swiros (as in: swirls & rounding).

The flowing river has created some very interesting patterns in the mud along the riverbank. This was shot near Mount Dillon, Dalton Highway, Alaska

I am blown away by the colouring of this fungi.
