My sister and her family came over for lunch today. She brought over a tea set and glassware that where my grandmothers. Loved the pattern on the teaset but it didnt photograph well so I decided to try the glassware
I got these in a big bundle of old transfers from ebay. I just love them. They are really adorable. The bottom part got cut off unfortunately in the scan, but the top portion is the cutest anyway. I don't know where they came from. I am guessing they were Workbasket Patterns, but that is a total guess.
This was a new species for me and also provided my favourite photo from this reserve.
I took many photos of this particular individual which stayed in the same general area on both days when I was there.
This photo was taken the second afternoon when there were less of us around and I had sorted the camera's settings.
This one is an actual zebra taken at Melbourne Zoo and not a close up of the Makatron Zebra that I uploaded a couple of photos ago.
Not quite classic Zentangle... But close, once I figured out how to draw this pattern inspired by a gourd (rattle? flask?) from the NYC Am. Museum of Natural History. It's all about spacing, spirals and rounding, after all.

I call this pattern Swiros (as in: swirls & rounding).

I drew and colored sheets of repeating patterns, then cut them into strips, and reassembled them into something like mosaic tile patterns. I cut and glue these onto plain cardboard boxes. Rather festive little things, and a ridiculously obsessive amount of work. But it's an enjoyable process for me.
