The Spectrum Tote from Cozy Nest Design sewing pattern

I drove past these pots for years. They belonged to a nursery. Then one day the hothouses were struck down, nursery ploughed over and pots loaded up and taken away. Not sure if the nursery sold up to a farm or they just found strawberry business to be more lucrative. I'm glad though that one day I got out of the car and took some shots of the patterns made by the thousands of stacked pots.

I found a wonderful stash of patterned book covers in a second hand book shop yesterday.

A Crease Patter as it really should be, with actual valley and mountain folds.

Since a month ago or so I had finished the head, but I couldn't find a suitable body. I had to make a very inefficient arrangement of the paper, but at the end it works out on the completed model (I think) which is the most important thing (I also think.)

No idea what happened to my descriptions for the last four photos I uploaded. They were there and then later, they had disappeared! Anyway, I loved the colouring and patterns on this fallen log, seen in the owl grove while I was waiting (in vain) for the two Great Horned Owlets to "do something".

Pattern for the December 2016 issue of the Bustle & Sew Magazine

Rule of Composition:

The repeating pattern and texture of the subject creates a visually interesting effect to the viewer.

Why it's a good photo:

There are no distracting elements and the main focus of the subject which is the pattern and texture is visually pleasing. This is due to the complimentary colour gradient caused by shadows thanks to the lighting.

How it could be improved:

The photo could have been taken further away so that viewers can identify what the object in the photo is. Right now, it is too near for viewers to identify that the subject is a lantern.
