On Monday, Jan. 27, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey officials at the Hoboken Terminal provided details of the planned PATH Hoboken station closure beginning at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, and lasting through 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24.
The closure, which was announced in October 2024, will allow for critical repairs across track and switch infrastructure while also enabling extensive station renovation work. A wide array of travel alternatives will be available, including free shuttle buses, cross-honored ferry service, supplemental NJ TRANSIT 126 bus service to the Midtown Bus Terminal, and supplemental Hudson-Bergen Light Rail service. NJ TRANSIT and NY Waterway service at Hoboken Terminal will continue operating.
The speakers at the media briefing included:
- Clarelle DeGraffe, PATH director and general manager
- Donald Liloia, senior vice president, NY Waterway
- Joseph Lucci, managing partner, Charter Linkz (at podium)

Hey, I'm a pro! Thank you to my darling daughters for the Christmas present. What better way to celebrate than posting a summer view of one of my favourite walks, and most favourited photos.
The autumn colours are more striking though : ). See
Thames Path Walk, 28th May 2007: Greenwich Peninsula - it would have been much funnier if one of them had fallen in !
Trying to cross through that gate so we could photograph the cows was ridiculous, turned into some kind of muddy ballet.
This was my favourite photo of the sky to date I think, just managed to catch some birds flying across the path to show it off some more.

There are paths all over Fort Williams park, many are quite well travelled and have benches for resting and enjoying the view.
Fort Williams State Park is one of our favorite places to go in the fall when the weather is nice. It's right on the water and has the ruins of Fort Williams scattered over it, as well as Portland Headlight, a beautiful lighthouse. There are walking paths all through it, and you can get right out and climb around on the rocks when the tide is out. The weather this day was just about perfect and we spent a couple hours exploring and taking in the scenery.
