técnica de patch que há muito queria aprender!!!! Haja dedo... mas o efeito é recompensador. Está saindo uma carteira para minha filha.
This isn't a real "patch", I just like the look of a patch with big cartoony stitches. The tweed is held down by interfacing and a wee black-thread zig zag. (see?)
This garment is one of a kind. Obviously. Super-soft and absorbant warm leopard lining. All poly, except the turqouise yarn detail.
Patch is 18 months old and has been at Freshfields rescue centre where I work as a volunteer since February 2013. Here is her profile from the website :-
'Man took in a stray cat who had kittens. Got out of control ended up with too many cats couldn't cope. Fairly good condition on admit. From Liverpool. She has a disfigured right eye due to a problem that went untreated as a kitten, however this doesn't cause her any problems and won't get any worse in the future. Patch is a very shy lady. With time she learns to trust new people and shows that she is a very affectionate, loving cat. She loves tickles behind her ears and does enjoy back rubs and tummy tickles. If you have patience and allow her to trust you she will make a wonderful addition to your home. An older, quieter home'
I spent some time with Patch this morning and didn't want to leave her, she was so affectionate. I hope someone comes along soon to give her the loving home she really deserves. More information about Patch can be found at the link below:-
Again, as Karen says....referencing the utilitarian aspect of needlewomen through the ages. Trying for the necessity and some 'pretty' at the same time...
I found some of my old Navy patches from various duty stations and squadrons I was in during my Navy years. So I scanned them.
This is the largest patch in my collection at 8" tall. Not sure the age, probably intended for a jacket or lab coat back.
Patch of the Nuclear Security Division, Durham Regional Police. Worn at the Pickering and Darlington nuclear generating stations.
Hi ya! My name is Patches! I am a young, energetic, happy-go-lucky dog in need of a forever home. I love to play with toys. I will romp and run, tossing them around in the air, tail always wagging with a big, heartwarming grin on my face. I get along well with other dogs, especially those who will play with me. I also have a sweet, friendly, loving personality. I enjoy being petted and told I'm a good boy. I have been around cats and I pretty much ignore them. I am a good dog who is looking for a home where people have the time and energy to spend with me, play with me and shower me with love and kisses. Could that be you? Apply today! Adoption fee: $75. Adopt a pair: $115. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, 60 days of free pet insurance, one session with a certified behavior trainer and microchip. I really really liked those shorts. I wouldn't let them die without a fight... so I used fabric adhesive and glued bandanas under all the holes. problem fixed.
Or at least it was until 10 washer loads later. Rats.

Tommy running through the pumpkin patch at the Fall Harvest Jamboree at Three Creeks Park in Columbus.
They had pumpkins of all sizes, shapes, and colors. We picked a nice $4 pumpkin that will make a nice dining table centerpiece (most likely uncarved).
Admission to the pumpkin patch was free, but parking was $3 (weekend only) and it cost money to ride on the various attractions on the farm. One could either buy tickets to individual attractions or pay $16 for a park pass.
