July 24: Our team was formally incorporated into the Mountain Rescue Association in June, and the other day Steve gave us our patches. But the hard work is far from over: every year we need to get recertified. And next year is the skill we're least adept at: tracking. For now, though, we're resting on our laurels.

The eighteenth patch on the jacket depicts a cartoon C-3PO. The patch was acquired from an EBay seller. The patch has been sewn on the bottom right hand side of the front of the jacket near the central buttons.

Box of jeans patches and Finnish town patches that I found this in the attic of our house in Finland (owned by my wife); lots of stuff was left behind by the previous owners.
Patches stayed around long enough for me to take her picture today.
Patches was a gift to an elderly lady who did not like cats. She kept Patches 4 years & then took Patches to the vet's to be put to sleep. The staff asked if she could be surrendered to the Human Society, and the owner agreed. Patches was afraid of people so she was hard to place. Patches is my first special needs adoption.
