It was December and I had just gotten out for Christmas break. I had woken up one morning and my mom came to my room and told me to follow her. I walked into the kitchen and she showed me this tiny little kitten. She told me she was in the office earlier and heard meowing outside the window. She went outside to look and out from the bushes jumped this tiny kitten and climbed up her leg. My mom brought in the house to warm her up. We started thinking of what we could call her and I said Patches. Patches is a very tough cat. The dogs inside would sniff her and she hit them on the head to let them know she did not want them around. Patches has been through a lot with me. She is there when I cry, she is there a night and sleeps beside me, and she can tell when I don't feel good. When my friends would come over she would chase them and try to grab there legs to let them she was there. Patches will be 11 years old in December.

Charlie agreed that he might feel less sad over Corey if he was too busy being happy over a new guinea pig. We went out to see if we could find someone for him to love. He fell in love with the very first guinea pig he saw. I wanted a smaller one, an absolutely brand new one, but this guy is only about 5 mos and Charlie wanted him. He named him Patches and everyone loves him already.

Patches is a beautiful black and white cat that is great both indoors and outdoors. He is an independent boy, but he loves to be stroked and have his head scratched.
We're finally getting to the bathroom beautification project, nearly three years after moving in. Eventually, I'd like to re-do the whole thing with better tiles and stuff, but that's a few years off. I just want it to be less ugly.
This is what the bathroom looked like. Underneath that giant mirror was this giant hole (surprise!) that was too small for the cabinet I bought. So we waited until I couldn't stand it anymore, then called a contractor to patch up the hole so we could at least paint over the dark gray and have some storage.
