I recently spent a couple of days in the lovely town of Bath and discovering much of its historical landmarks, here we have the River Avon, Pulteney Bridge and of course the Pulteney Weir. Weirs are a means of flood defence and are installed where dams are not a realistic solution to flooding.
I was a little disappointed with the Fall colors in Mono County over the past weekend. Most aspen trees along June Lake loop have already sheded their leaves. The only place where there was still a good amount of Fall color showing was Lundy Canyon. We arrived here late in the afternoon and strolled along this dirt road. The low angle sun produced a nice star burst among the aspen trees. It felt refreshing with the scent in the ambient.

Taken during my favourite season for photography. I love the colours at this time especially when the beauty is doubled by the reflections in water.
Today we took a family trip to Kalamazoo, Michigan to the AirZoo. The grandkids loved it, the grownups loved it. We had a wonderful time exploring planes from the past to the the present and discovering outerspace. These are some colorful planes of yesteryear taken from the second floor of the museum. I love the bright colors and wild imaginations of those who decorated them. By the way, these are not models but real, actual airplanes.
After #CN518 is done their work at Invista, at the bottom of the Cataraqui Spur, they’re now seen coming back up towards the Kingston Sun, where they’ll continue with all signals to Belleville yard.
Took this picture two weeks ago at White Pines State Park in Northern Illinois. Peak foliage was probably the week before but it was still a nice hike on a beautiful fall day....
Commonly called the Bean Lake Road. Know more accurately as Highway 435. It is a well maintained gravel road because up the road a piece there is a Minuteman Nuclear Missile silo. Past the nuke the road is less well maintained
I was in my backyard taking moon shots, as I often am in the habit of doing. It was not until I downloaded the images that I saw a small, black object in several frames. Upon enlarging the image, you can see the bat's outline, appearing to fly right past the moon and out of sight! This first shot is just the moon, but each of the following frames capture the bat's outline as it passes the moon!
Taken at 9:00 PM CST.
Orland Park, Illinois USA
*This was not "layered" into the images. The event is completely natural and I will probably never have the good fortune to have it happen again! My Canon EOS 7D Mark II gets 10 frames per second; the bat was in 8 frames of the ten!
In the beauty, among the trees
Face caressed by the summer breeze
Hear the birds sing in the skies
See the clouds, float past your eyes
Walk between the spreading trees
Feel the lovely summer breeze
That falls upon your waiting face
As past you, beauty it does race
