This evenings view in Hatchers Pass on the Little Susitna River. The cabins are remnants from a past lodge near this spot.
After I do not know how many days now I can sit here at the computer. Surely I missed many of your works, I'm sorry ...
I wanted to thank all my flickr friends for their greetings, wishes, comments and invitations to my previous images. Slowly I will return to my rhythm here until the end of the holidays ...
A year is ending and a new year approaches.
I wish everyone a peaceful holiday season and a New Year full of creativity and satisfaction, health, love, work etc ....
in short, as you say, "All the Best" !! :)

“So we found ourselves in an ancient place, the very air around us bound by chains.”

Like most of Galapagos, Sombrero Chino (Chinese Hat) is volcanic in origin. The exploration path starts with a gorgeous beach, bright red Sally Lightfoot crabs and marine iguanas. The path goes past a colony of endemic Galapagos sea lions before passing a lava field: look for the lava cactus growing in the cracks. On the beach, keep your eyes open for the American Oystercatcher, a wading bird with a distinctive orange beak. On the trail, you may see lava lizards.
Reflect in time past, reflect the light, reflect on all the rules, reflect on what is needed. In photography reflect is a key word.
As a German, I'm not used to such memorials for the victorious soldiers of wars past. Obviously, the Brits have another history.

At Frederiksborg Castle (Danish: Frederiksborg Slot).
This royal castle was built in a northern Renaissance style, for the Danish king Christian IV. The main building of the castle was built 1602-1620 (replacing an older structure). For a long time it served as a royal residence.
The castle was almost completely destroyed in a fire 1859. The castle was restored, using old plans and drawings to give it its proper look - with generous donations made by J.C. Jabosen (who made a fortune founding the Carlsberg brewery), to turn it into a National Museum, which it still is to this day.
EXTREMELY VOCAL, and can be a proficient mimic of both animate and inanimate sounds. Love the way a starling walks with characteristic swagger, and the flight is rather undulating and the wings look pointed and triangular in outline. /// SOMETHING out of the norm. for me, but felt it had something of appeal going for it, so have risked posting it, hope you enjoy it.

"OUR EARS ARE CLOSED"
Sea and mountains, valleys and streams
Night and day were all in Gods dreams,
The Garden of Eden with its precious tree
The Son He gave to set us free.
The seed He placed in the heart He made
Don't let its flowers wither and fade,
Is the ear closed to His constant plea
For in truth we live to disagree.
Have we not learned a thing from the past?
Why is the blindness we have so vast ?
We've ignored His word since time began
To do as we will has been our plan.
Has the Saviour's death not opened our eyes
When His blood was shed for our demise,
Mocked and beaten, betrayed from within
God's Holy Lamb pierced for our sin.
When the reaper comes and we walk to the gate
Do we all stand in line, to wait and wait,
Or will the one who gives life lead you through
And walk with you to paradise and life anew ?

FIREWORKS IN MY MIND
I feel that I could lose myself
within the warm fold of your arms
the intensity you feel for me
ignites fireworks in my mind
within the recess of my heart
where past love left a void
there's a burning river running through
lighting fireworks in my mind
it's scorching everything I touch
and coursing through my veins
I close my eyes and try to breathe
but still see fireworks in my mind
I feel myself falling deep
in the garden of my dreams
this burning love; intense white heat
creates fireworks in my mind
I walk along my empty beach
and try to stem the flow
I don't want to feel this way
with fireworks in my mind
it feels too much; explosive love
it consumes me with it's madness
somehow you got beneath my skin
caused fireworks in my mind
I'm weakening now as you grow close
but I'm less when you're not here
the coldness that ached and broke my bones
is gone with fireworks in my mind
I need to choose; to do things right
but it's harder when you're here
you took my heart and made it yours
lit fireworks in my mind
If I could choose and have it all
I'd tell you not to go
don't make me choose between the moon and you
with fireworks in my mind

Quaglietta (AV)
The history of Quaglietta begins when, to stop the Saracen incursions in the Sele Valley, it was decided to build 3 fortresses: Valva, Senerchia and Quaglietta, (which however at the time was called castrum Quallectae).
The first settlement was therefore a military fortress built on a rocky spur (284 m above sea level) to which a village was added over time.
The name has nothing to do with quails as many believe but with the ancient Latin name of the area or Acque electe which translates as pure water and refers to the richness and purity of the waters that flow in the area.
Although the town is closely linked to the municipalities of the Sele Valley belonging to the province of Salerno, it is part of the province of Avellino and is a fraction of the municipality of Calabritto.
The 1980 earthquake hit this town hard but it was renovated with great attention and today the ancient medieval village retains its ancient splendor and is a tourist attraction.

An old house that has been beautifully restored, the abbey of which parts have been ruined and others survived time, some signs of modern times, all in harmony in Malmesbury!
A period house in the Spitalfields area of London that's regularly used as a film set for historical dramas. I've shot this previously long ago but stumbled across it on this occasion without any cars to impede the POV - definitely worth a retake IMO.
Taken this past June in Etosha, Namibia. The young zebra colt was having a great time running and kicking up his heels and in this image he is actually airborne. He was quite young as his fur coat still has the appearance of being slightly curly. I love them at this age and was thrilled to have seen so many young ones on this trip . This image is in honor of you Lanette Browder as I know how much you love zebras and especially babies.
Wishing you all a beautiful Sunday and a very blessed one ...
