I took this photo to bring with me to England. The literature the foreign exchange people sent me said I would want to bring photos to show friends and stave off homesickness. This may be why Mom let me take the photo -- she was categorically anti-photo for many, many years.
Mr. l33twave just turned 40, and it occurred to us that our parents, as captured in photos, were our current age when they were taken. We both agree -- we don't feel as grown up as our parents seemed to us at the time.

My parents had one exactly like this many years ago. There's a slightly blurry b&w photo (dated 1960) of my little brother and me at bedtime, with a night table between the beds. Guess what's sitting on top of that table? :- )

enjoyed a night of fun, games and craft activities in the Energy Center on Oct. 21, 2016.
This is an older nestling. Parent and child seemed to be posing. This baby is getting its feathers in now. The fuzzies on the top of the head will identify it as a young egret for some time to come. Notice how the parent has no breeding colors now. You don't need to dress up for the kids.
