three days ago it was my parents 25th anniversary.

I made the assumption that this was a mother talking with her adult child at the shoreline park in Fulton, Texas. The theme music to Terms of Endearment popped into my head, though hopefully whatever conversation they were having was a lot less dramatic.

Fun fact: The movie Terms of Endearment was based on a book of the same name written by Texas author Larry McMurtry. I always think of Larry McMurtry more for Lonesome Dove, which is among my favorite novels and is my all-time favorite film in the Western genre. But McMurtry also wrote a lot of books that I think did a good job of capturing a particular kind of Texas culture of the 1960s, '70s, and '80s. He wrote The Last Picture Show, which was made into a movie starring Cybill Shepherd and Jeff Bridges. I've neither read that book nor seen the movie, but I did read Texasville, the book's sequel set in the 1980s Texas oil bust.

Looks like this parent osprey would like me to come over and play. This is same bird I thought was going to attack while baby was in egg. Was still 50ish yards away from the nest but she wasn't happy.
