This picture was taken on the night my baby was born. My wife lay on a bed beside me, enduring waves of pain — yet, despite her agony, she managed to capture this precious moment.
That night, January 23, changed my life forever. On the same day, I was promoted at work — and became a father. It felt as though the universe had given me everything at once. I was overwhelmed, speechless even.
I’ve never really known how to cherish moments of love, but when I first looked into my child’s face, I finally understood — nothing in this world brings greater peace than that.
I often heard my mother say, “I lived my life looking at my child’s face.” I never truly understood her words until that day. Parents give everything they have to their children, and in return, their children become their whole world.
Someday, this earth will keep turning as it always has — but the cycle of parents and children, of love and life, will go on just the same.
May all children be well.
May all parents be blessed.
Parents’ Drawing & Painting
Instructor’s Statement
This painting class – held specifically for parents whose children are in other Fleisher classes - is structured to arouse, develop and nurture creative instincts.
I introduce the techniques of painting according to the needs of the students. However, learning to see aggressively - as the artist perceives – is my utmost goal of achievement. I encourage “my parents”, as beginning artists, to first consider the factors of designing space to create a strong composition. Then we begin the careful process of understanding the uses of drawing skills to structure form, realizing of course, that the plastic means - the use of line, light, color, space, form and texture - are the most important tools for creative expression. Each artist gets to choose his or her medium with which to work, so in our class we’ll have people drawing, painting with oils or even using watercolors.
Ultimately our studio is one in which many discoveries and many adventures take place – all artistically based of course! It becomes an environment where the first time painter, as well as the more experienced artist, can learn and create expressive works of art.

Having kids is true happiness. However, caring for little ones can sometimes be quite a challenging and demanding occupation. Illustrator Grant Snider decided to share his feelings and emotions by creating amusing comics based on his personal experience as a father.

Generosity week ran from February 24th to March 2nd 2014 at USF as a way for students to give thanks for the generosity of all the donors that contribute to the University of San Francisco.
The week started with a Generosity Food Truck Kickoff, a “Thank You” banner signing and a chance for students to meet the student philanthropy committee.

Lo Schiavo Science
75% of the cost of LCSI was funded by 3,407 donors. Gifts ranged in size from $2 to $10 million, from Alumni, Faculty, Staff, Parents, Friends, Foundation and Corporations.
Gleeson Library
The library has received over 4,000 donations from Alumni, Students, Faculty, Staff, Parents, Friends, Foundations and Corporations. Some of the books in Gleeson Library were donated to USF by students like you, through previous Senior Class Gift campaigns.
Kalmanovitz Hall
K-Hall was renovated in 2008, which was made possible by over 1,200 gifts from people like you. The Kalmanovitz Charitable Foundation has continued to support your USF experience as one of the University’s generous supporters.
Cowell Hall
The renovation and update of Cowell Hall in 1995 was made possible in part by the S.H. Cowell Foundation. Many additions, within Cowell Hall were made possible by gifts from people like you.
Malloy Hall
Renovated in 2004, this building is named for our current Chair of the Board of Trustees, Tom Malloy ’61 and his family. Their generosity helped make this building possible.
Runner Statue
Students like you made this statue possible. The Runner Statue was made possible by the USF class of 1986, who raised over $8000 as part of their Senior Class Gift.
Leona and Dominic Tarantino Plaza
This plaza is named for Leona and Dom’54 Tarantino, alumni and trustee emeriti. Their generosity helped to make this space possible.
Koret Health and Recreation Center
Without the support of the Koret Foundation, USF would not have this Garden Courtyard, the Koret Gym, or the Koret Law Center. Without their generosity, many spaces at USF would not be possible.
Had a mini-photoshoot avec the parents at the weekend for my designs for my art project, as expected the photos are very cute :D
1940-41, Rajahmundry. Last year in college (B.Ed) for my father and beginning of motherhood for my mother.
After moving in their students, parents were invited to join Dr. Rob Pearigen, Millsaps College president, for a complimentary luncheon. Staff members in Student Life, Admissions, and the Business Office were present to answer questions about life at Millsaps.
