I saw someone's flickr shot of their mac running parallels, with the XP VM redone in a osx theme using windowblinds... i decided to do the same thing, but for free using a StyleXP based theme, and the uxtheme patcher... turned out pretty darn good i think :-)

In thinking about natural things (vs. structural things) that form parallel lines, I had vegetables on my mind.
WIT: Went to the produce isle and scoped out vegetables that formed nice lines. I chose green onions for its rich green colors and the way they are typically stacked. Of all the shots that I took, this one right after the water mister sprayed was my favorite. No flash, manually set Aperture to get good focus under Macro per advice from my friends in this pool last week... :)

This is a photograph belonging to a set of photographs taken at the St. Coca's AC 5KM Road Race 2013 which was held in Kilcock, Co. Kildare, Ireland at 20:00 on Friday 28th June 2013. This superb road race is now firmly established again as one of the fastest and best organised road races of it's kind in Leinster. The race follows a left handed course around a well known local walking route around Laragh and in the closing kilometer runs parallel to the Royal Canal into the finish at the railway station. The members of St. Coca's AC and the many volunteers from the local community must be given great praise for organising another fantastic night of racing for runners, joggers, and walkers. The 5KM course is very flat with the exception of short incline up a motorway overpass and makes its way along narrow country lanes sheltered on either side by hedgerows. The beautiful summer's evening made for an enjoyable night for everyone with a large crowd gathering at the finish to cheer on participants.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: Approximately 350 people took part in tonight's race with runners, joggers, walkers, and families involved.
Weather: A perfect summer's evening with temperatures around 16C. There was a breeze out but this was mostly sheltered from runners around a beautiful country roads course.
Course: This is a very fast flat course. The course is left handed and starts outside the 'Bawn Og' St. Coca's AC track and proceeds to the well known local walk around Laragh and crosses the M4/M6 motorway twice. The final 1KM runs parallel with the Royal Canal with the finish in the car-park of Kilcock Railway Station.
Location Map: Start/finish area on Google StreetView [Start: goo.gl/maps/Vas9v Finish: goo.gl/maps/3kPKq] are all within easy access of race HQ and the local village.
Refreshments: The folks at St. Coca's AC put on an incredible spread of refreshments afterwards in race HQ in Scoil Ui Riada.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. This chamber was excavated in a stratified red bronze salt sliver in the mid-seventeenth century. In the next century, it's lower parts were flooded and only in the mid-nineteenth century was it secured and included into the tourist route, as it was at the time.
Of great interest is the collection of the authentic methods used to transport salt in underground galleries, such as wooden carts (known as Hungarian dogs) and the special sledge. For many centuries miners themselves transported excavated material, until horses were used for the purpose.
From the sixteenth century, horses were employed both in vertical and horizontal transport. The last of them called Baska, left the mine in 2002. Fine salt was put into barrels and then placed onto the sledge.
From the 1780's boxes and carts were pushed along wooden rails, that is, beach planks placed parallel along the track. Large blocks of salt were fashioned as barrel shaped rolls, which made it easier to roll them with wooden poles to the places where treadmills operated. In 1861, horizontal transport acquired railway carts, which were first drawn by horses and then, starting from the 1920's by battery and traction locomotives.
This is a photograph from the fourth annual running of the Killyon National School 5KM Road Race and Fun Run which was held at Hill-of-Down, Clonard, Co. Meath, Ireland at 19:30 on Mid-Summer evening Wednesday 21st June 2017. The race changed from its traditional Sunday fixture to a mid week race and this proved to be very popular with probably the largest attendance yet at the race. The race is held as a fundraiser for the local primary school. Killyon is actually a parish rather than a town or village. With that the race started and finished at the well known Hill-of-Down where the Royal Canal and Dublin Sligo rail line run parallel and cross under the Kinnegad (Westmeath) to Trim (Meath) road. The 5KM route took in a final KM on the beautiful towpath of the Royal canal and finished outside Moran's Pub beside the Canal. The race combines beautiful countryside scenery, rural charm and the history of the Canal and Railway which define the geography of the area. Overall the race was very well organised with excellent stewarding and organisation. There was a great spread of refreshments afterwards. The very warm summer weather of recent days eased a bit with good warm conditions for running. There was very good local support from the surrounding areas with local runners, joggers and walkers in attendance.

These are "Triplet" 3D pictures, Left + Centre picture are for parallel viewing Right + Centre picture are for cross eyed viewing.
If you can see "Magic Eye" (stereogram) pictures, you can see these in 3D, use the same technique to look at the left and center pictures together, merge the two pictures and they will "Snap" into 3D.
This is called "parallel" viewing, however you are limited to the size you can view, much bigger than this size and it doesn't work.
The only way to see these at full size is with the "Cross eyed" technique, this takes practice and you need to go
"Cross eyed" and use your right eye to look at the centre picture, and your left eye to look at the right hand picture.
