Found a Rolls Royce at the foot of Beetham Tower in Manchester, and felt in the mood for some arty photos.

A recovering Illinois woodland is often just lines, parallels and perpendiculars, with a smattering of little sublines forming X's at 60 degrees.
In prehistory, this spot was probably never prairie. It sits up on the Valparaiso Moraine, the big terminal moraine that curves around Chicagoland and marks the boundary of the last big glacier to come this way. Most of the land atop the moraine was oak savanna 200 years ago, at least what wasn't marsh. A lot of it looked like this. The fifth of an acres where my house now stands probably looked like this in 1776.
I love woods. I love trees. I love grass, branches, dry leaves and everything that is connected with woods.
I also really love parallel lines. What astonished me recently when I was shooting outside is how our bodies can become completely parallel with trees and branches. And it always look so beautiful when you see the curves of the body next to the curves of the tree...

Parallel lines can’t be semi (at least in Euclidean geometry) but here are some sort of parallel lines on a heated floor mat.

December simplicity

My first attempt at a parallel build. Pre-made SS 28/32 clapton wire with 22 gauge SS. Came out to .12 ohms, my lowest build so far. Flavor was ok but doesn't seem as flavorful as fused claptons.
The Audi R8 is the first production mid-engined model from this German prestige car maker.
The car capitalises, and draws a road car parallel with Audi's endevaours in Sportscar racing, in particular LeMans, which it has dominated in recent years with mid-engined sports prototypes.
Developed in conjunction with Italian supercar maker Lamborghini (also owned by the VW group), the R8 shares its inner body, chassis systems and some powertrain components with the similar-under-the-skin Gallardo. The Audi R8 has also gone on to use the Gallardo's V10 engine. Originally the Audi R8 was released with an Audi V8 engine. Both models feature AWD on most variants and feature aluminium chassis.
This Audi R8 model has been created using Lego Digital Designer for Flickr LUGNuts 42nd build Challenge - 'Autos aus Deutschland' - featuring cars, trucks and bikes from the birthplace of the automobile, Germany.
The model features a working mid-engined piston engine, AWD and independent suspension on all wheels.
The R8 model featured here is shown as a technical cutaway, illustrating some of the mechanical componentry.
The track in the background is the headshunt from Kingmoor Yard towards Stainton. The nearer, lower, track is a run round loop which appears to be less frequently used and is on the original Waverley Route level and alignment. It is not normally possible to access the land alongside the railway at this location, situated in the wedge between the Waverley Route and the West Coast Main Line at the south end of Kingmoor Yard. Fortuitously, on the day of my visit the gates were open for a car boot sale which was being held in this area. Worth the admission money to the car boot sale to get a view from this location. The lower (foreground) track is on the level and the alignment of the original Waverley route.
