some were going up. some walked through. some didn’t move at all. there was no signal. no choreography. just a moment where people aligned like shadows on glass.
this image captures a fleeting moment where the cityscape of hannoverâs osterstraÃe divides itself into two mirrored worlds. the sharp reflection on the glass façade creates a striking symmetry, making it difficult to discern where reality ends and its reflection begins. the woman walking by, engrossed in her phone, seems unaware that sheâs both here and there, existing in two spaces at once. this juxtaposition of the ordinary and the abstract invites viewers to question the boundaries of perception, as the urban environment transforms into a surreal dance of light, shadow, and reflection.

The scene was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights placed 90° CL/CR, two-feet away from and 18-inches above the subject. The speedlights were fired in Manual mode @ ½ power through gridded Neewer soft boxes.
The SB900's were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X triggers.

Oltrepo Pavese, 45th parallel north. Very harsh light, I recommend a walk from Pietra de' giorgi to Lirio during the sunset.
The 45th parallel north is a circle of latitude that is 45 degrees north of Earth's equator. It crosses Europe, Asia, the Pacific Ocean, North America, and the Atlantic Ocean. The 45th parallel north is often called the halfway point between the equator and the North Pole, but the true halfway point is 16.0 km (9.9 mi) north of it (approximately between 45°08'36" and 45°08'37") because Earth is an oblate spheroid; that is, it bulges at the equator and is flattened at the poles.
At this latitude, the sun is visible for 15 hours 37 minutes during the summer solstice, and 8 hours 46 minutes during the winter solstice. The midday Sun stands 21.6° above the southern horizon at the December solstice, 68.4° at the June solstice, and exactly 45.0° at either equinox.
I discovered a new dam near Durbanville on Friday afternoon... hidden from view on the top of a hill and in the middle of a canola field!
I stumbled on it quite by accident while I was walking along a farm road looking for promising compositions. I heard some ducks quacking and figured that where there are ducks... there must be water!? :)

Hiking through this forest usually results in great fall color shots, but on this cloudy, wet day the pattern of trees stood out.
Thought I would trot over to PortStewart this morning to greet the new day.
Wasn't the most brilliant of sun rises, I have photographed much more beautiful ones, but there was some nice cloud action going on.
Actually I didn't see this cloud action until I decided to go to the top of the cliff an hour after I arrived.
I haven't seen so many parallel clouds before, although I do believe that they may be called contrails.
And duh I have just suddenly realised that a contrail is what flows behind a plane just like the one in the photo, ergo that is why these clouds are called contrails.
Definitely having an Amanda moment!!!!
That beautiful light didn't stay long either as it got very murky, very quickly and it hasn't improved as the day has gone along.
I am still waiting for Summer!!!
This one was the last shot we did a couple of weeks ago in Kallahti, Helsinki - Finland. The sun had already been up for some while, and we were walking towards the car as we saw this large pool by the road.
Digital blending from 9 exposures, finalizing with minimal post in PS to try to maximize a natural result.
