She was a quiet thing, for Zeus had given her the knowledge that silence is often more beautiful than any words. Sweetly and graciously she accepted and diligently practiced the skills taught to her by the other Gods. Her hair shone, her eyes sparkled, she flitted among the dancing leaves, and contained a laugh that was deemed loveliest of all.
However, she was lonely. immensely. As Pandora was the first woman in the world, there were no other humans to beseech for companionship. She often sat in the dark of her room, listening to nothing, hearing nothing. And ---as Zeus had planned--- at the peak of her loneliness she was given a box.
"Do not open this!" Hermes directed her, giving her a friendly pat on the head. She gently smiled and placed her hands on the box, making a motion to show that she understood. Hermes, confident that his message had been relayed to the wonderful human woman, sped off.
Pandora looked around her dark room. "I will obey" she assured herself in a tone more than just a little doubtful. She stared at the box, where pulsating light seeped through its cracks. She was filled with a rush of desire, what if someone resided within this box? A friend? Someone to talk to? Pandora let a single tear slide down her perfect cheek. Perhaps the Gods actually wanted her to open the box! Maybe Hermes was just joking with her? "Yess" something whispered in her ear. Her thoughts? She didn't stop to ponder.
Swiftly, she threw open the box, smiling at the beauty of the light pouring out. However, as you might have now guessed, this woman's name was indeed Pandora, and as we all know, the contents of Pandora's box were anything but pleasant or friendly. Sobbing, she attempted to shut the lid as shrieking creatures sped away from their prison. Finally, she slammed it closed, although she could see every creature had been able to get away. Wait, what was that? Weeping afresh, Pandora cracked open the boxes lid to see the most beautiful essence residing inside.
"W-what are you?", she gasped in awe?"
"I," it said in a voice of a thousand marvelous whispers "am hope."
And that, is how Pandora became in part the world's greatest hero ever known.

In the legend of Pandora, Pandora simply couldn't resist the temptation of what was inside Pandora's Box. Curiously opening the box, she released all of the world's evils; pride, wrath, sorrow, deceit, misery, glory, cowardice, hate, arrogance, gluttony, envy, vanity, lust, fear, greed, etc. At the bottom however, underneath all evils, there was hope. It wouldn`t abandon humans and as such stayed with them.

In Greek mythology, Pandora's box is the large jar (πιθος pithos) carried by Pandora (Πανδώρα) that, when opened by her, unleashed many terrible things on mankind – ills, toils and sickness, – and hope.[1] Contrary to popular belief, in the original story, Pandora's "box" was not actually a box at all, but rather a jar. Hence, the historically correct term would be "Pandora's jar".
Hi Flickr friends! So I've decided to add another to my Greek Mythology set. I've been thinking about Pandora's Box for a while now and it hasn't left my head. So I ahd to get it out. I actually did another shot that is "Pandora" unlocking the box first. I was going to use both, but the hair didn't work out so I gave up. . . I should have tried harder, but the hair on this one took forever by it's self. It's all brushes. The box is actually my jewlery box. My grandma gave it to me about 4 years ago. I love it. And so I guess that's all I have to say for now. I may work on the other shot of Pandora later, but I need a brake for a minute.

"PANDORA"S BOX"
Pandora's box is an artifact in Greek mythology.
The "box" was actually a large jar given to Pandora , which contained all the evils of the world. When Pandora opened the jar, all its contents except for one item were released into the world. The one remaining item was Hope. Today, opening Pandora's box means to create evil that cannot be undone.
In classic Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman on earth. Zeus ordered Hephaestus, the god of craftsmanship, to create her, so he did—using water and earth. The gods endowed her with many talents: Aphrodite gave her beauty, Apollo gave music and Hermes, persuasion. The gods also gave her the gift of curiosity.
When Prometheus stole fire from heaven, Zeus took vengeance by presenting Pandora to Epimetheus, Prometheus' brother. With her, Pandora was given a beautiful box which she was not to open under any circumstance. Impelled by her curiosity given to her by the gods, Pandora opened the box-jar, and all evil contained escaped and spread over the earth. She hastened to close the lid, but the whole contents of the jar had escaped, except for one thing that lay at the bottom, which was Hope. Pandora was deeply saddened by what she had done, and was afraid that she would have to face Zeus' wrath, since she had failed her duty. However, Zeus did not punish her, because he knew this would happen.

This is my hand built CB. I made the seat from fiberglass, bashed the tank with a hammer and tossed a Harley rim on the stock hub. The bike is coming along nicely. Paint, new wiring and a custom oil tank are in the near future.
