Mother's Milk

I don't usually talk about money on here. But today I will make an exception, because it's that important. Today, Randy Brogdon, conservative gubernatorial candidate here in Oklahoma, is doing a "money bomb" on his website. I would like to take just a few minutes of your time and make a case for dropping Randy a few bucks.
1. It's an investment. Investing is the act of putting money or effort into something because you think it will, in the long run, pay you back, make it worth your sacrifice. Giving money to a good political candidate, like Randy, is a very profitable investment. Randy, or any other good political candidate, cannot do what they need to do if they don't have money to do it with. Randy, when elected, will do a lot of good things for our state. He just needs the money to get there! I have no doubt that Randy will keep his word when he gets to the Governor's Mansion and do the good things that we've asked him to do. You will get a return on your investment!
2. It has spiritual worth. People don't like to talk about religion, sex, or politics and they labor under the delusion that the 3 are in no way connected. I won't try to totally disassemble this false belief here and now, but I will say that a living, mature Christian faith cannot ignore politics. I'm speaking here to Christians, such as myself. (Having never ever been of any other faith I won't pretend to know what they teach about politics.) We are called as Christians to actively engage our culture and world at large, not just in our churches and in evangelistic efforts. We are responsible not only for individual souls but also for our collective soul--our culture. Politics is an integral part of this culture, our collective soul. It is our duty to support other Biblical Christians in their crusade into this dangerous land, just as much it is our duty to support missionaries who go into foreign lands.
3. If not you, then who? Our country is "of the people". You are a person, so you qualify. You don't have to make a big donation. So few people give money politically that when you do, you have a huge impact. A little goes a long way. If you're not doing something to mold our country, then who is? Big special interest groups, corporate greed, and career politicians. If this disturbs you, then do something!

Exposition présentée dans le cadre de l’échange et du prix Engramme/SSA (Society of Scottish Artists), qui témoigne de la richesse des collaborations internationales qui juxtaposent fertilité et rayonnement pour des artistes de deux continents.
Avec l’exposition "Palindrome panoramique", David Faithfull présente ses recherches sur la relation entre l’homme et l’environnement à travers des images panoramiques.
L’installation proposée questionne l’interaction entre le livre d’artiste, l’estampe et le multiple en traduisant le thème du palindrome de manière séquentielle. Les motifs sérigraphiés se répètent à l’infini pour couvrir un papier peint qui deviendra la trame confidentielle d’un dialogue suggéré par un espace aux accents de décoration d’intérieur.
Austères tout autant que sublimes, ces paysages sont principalement ceux de Mull, une île dans l’archipel des Hébrides. Exploitant la forme du double, l’artiste représente la nature selon des points de vue opposés : l’un subjectif, l’autre objectif. Ses collaborations avec des écrivains insulaires écossais, comme John Burniside et les artistes du collectif 6W, apportent un contraste additionnel à celui déjà suggéré par le visuel de Faithfull, comme autant de représentations de la topographie, de la géologie ou de la météorologie écossaise.

Artiste écossais de renommée internationale, David Faithfull a présenté son travail à de nombreuses reprises dans des galeries et des musées au Royaume-Uni, en l’Italie, en Australie et en Slovaquie.
Ses livres d’artistes ont été publiés chez Polygon, UWE, Storyboard Press, Canongate Books, Pocketbooks et Morning Star et plusieurs de ses oeuvres font partie de prestigieuses collections telles que la Tate Modern de Londres et la Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art d’Édimbourg. David Faithfull vit et travaille entre l’Île de Mull et Édimbourg, en Écosse.

so, its another nite that im getting home in the wee hours having worked all day. im dead tired. im designing two shows at the moment, and one of them opens this coming week, so we are knee deep in the tech process. im adjusting my striplights in this shot. my gel keeps melting cause i didnt have the budget to buy heat shield. one more in the comments below. sleep now.
When an interrupted palindrome is transcribed, the resulting stem-loop in the RNA causes RNA polymerase to pause. Rho catches up to it and pulls the RNA out.
My newest FO, took about a month and is getting on for 6ft long, so am quite impressed with the speed of it all!
I realise that my Flickr account has reverted back to it's free state, but I'm currently a poor student trying to put a bit aside before I go to uni, so not sure if/when I'll update again.

Paling is een bijzondere vis. Als transparante glasalen drijven ze mee met de wereldstromen en spreiden zo uit over de hele wereld. Wanneer ze na jaren vertoeven in zoet of brak water geslachtsrijp zijn, beginnen palingen aan de terugtocht naar de paaiplaatsen in de Sargassozee om daar zich voort te planten en te sterven.
Palindrome vertelt op mythische wijze deze opmerkelijke levensloop van de paling.

There was a time, today, where all my Twitter stats were palindromes. It's the little things that make me happy.
The Sator Square or Rotas Square is a word square containing a Latin palindrome featuring the words SATOR AREPO TENET OPERA ROTAS, in this or in the reverse order, written in a square so that they may be read top-to-bottom, bottom-to-top, left-to-right, and right-to-left.
The earliest datable square was found in the ruins of Pompeii which was buried in the ash of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. Examples may be carved on stone tablets, or engraved into clay before firing as pottery. The exact translation, and its meaning, have been the subject of speculation with no clear consensus for either.

In Hebrew water is a symbol of the unity of opposites closed and open, since the word Mayim (water) is composed of the letters MeM (open) and MeM closed with the hand Yod, Yad) of God between them.

Although fresh water comes from seawater the word sea (Yam) is included in the word for water (Mayim) and this is happening only in Hebrew.

A water molecule consists of two elements of one type (H) and one of a different type (O). The Hebrew word Mayim (water) consists of two letters from one type and one of another kind. This parallel raises the suspicion that the inventors of Hebrew knew chemistry.

In the photograph I built the open MEM closed as well to show that the word water is called from right in the same way it is called from the left, since it is a palindrome.
