I've got bad news my friends. You will not see another palindrome in your life time. The next one is 3030-3-03! Good luck, hope you live that long!
All my images are filed by date number. This is the two hundred and second image taken on 2020-2-02. File number is 2020-2-02-0202.

we each have our stories to tell.
then there is the palindromic number 802208, which appeals to me.
A few 'sagas', three complete books but showing just one of the Pamela Belle's 'Heron' series, and one of the sixteen 'Jalna' books.
Quite by chance these books are published over six different decades:
Gone With The Wind 1936
The Building of Jalna 1944 (there are fifteen more titles in the 'Jalna' series, published from 1927 - 1960, confusingly published / written out of chronological order)
The Pop Larkin Chronicles, the individual books published from 1958 - 1970
The Far Pavilions 1978
The Moon in the Water 1983 (there are three more titles in the 'Heron' series)

Peanut is annoyed that I made her a rhinestone collar to wear in a photo shoot for her currert love interest, MannyA. Who knew she could tell the difference?
She has asked me to advise all current and future suitors that only diamonds, pink tourmaline, and emeralds are acceptable gifts for a cat of her stature unless he's a writer. Since she has had two palindromes and one haiku written for her she is willing to accept a biography or novel using her as a model for the main character..

"Palindromes"
A palindrome is a word, number, phrase, or other sequence of characters which reads the same backward as forward, such as madam or racecar.
Choose a palindrome and illustrate it with a photo.

In the forecourt of the Agios Philippos church in Latsia, Cyprus, you would find this fountain. Fountains like this offering water, and more specifically the water of life protected by the Mother of God, are a Byzantine tradition going back to the fourth century. There is nothing unusual about this, nor is the palindrome (a text or word that can be read from left to right and also from right to left, like 'Otto') and the ambigram (a word or text where one half is mirroring the other, like 'Otto'). The caption "Wash my sins, not just my face" is traditional. Less traditional is the inscription below: Thomas Lefteris, son of Christos, went missing in Kerinia on the 22nd of July, 1974. This is the date of the violent Turkish invasion of the northern half of the island. In this area of Latsia, an outskirt of Nicosia, a lot of refugees from the north found a new home. The island is not at peace. There is only a ceasefire. Leica M8, Voigtlaender NC 1.4/35.

The palindrome (from the ancient greek πάλιν "back" and δρóμος "race", meaning "running backwards") is a sequence of characters which, read backwards, remains the same.
The concept refers mainly to words, phrases and numbers.
But the images can be palindromes? It would seem so ...
A Palindrome is a word or in this case a date, that can be read the same way forward and backward.

Edit April 2024:
I would like to dedicate my photo to my neighbour Romeo. This wild prunus plant is placed in his ground, a non cultivated field, at one step distance from my garden. Recently he had gifted me his tree, giving me permission to take care of it during the seasons, included the pruning of the branches. Romeo left us prematurely last January 25 2024 for a sudden heart stroke. He was only 54, a generous guy. This tree bears now his name, Romeo, and, in the moment I'm writing this memory, it's bountifully blossoming white little flowers.
Not the sharpest picture I've ever taken but I think it meets the challenge. I had never heard this palindrome before researching for this challenge.

Shooter Island is where shooters would go to practice their skills with bow & arrows in the middle ages
Jiraskuv Most - Jirasek Bridge
The bridge is named after Alois Jirásek (1851 – 1930) a Czech writer and politician.
Building the bridge encountered a serious problem at the very beginning, on the Smíchov side of the Vltava river there used to stand a Baroque pavilion that was in the way. It was decided to move the pavilion 110 m up the stream but there was no insurance company willing to take the risk insuring such an adventure. The problem was however solved they demolished the building.
Palackeho Most - Palacky Bridge (only just visible in this image)
The bridge is named after the historian Frantisek Palacky
Albert Einstein used to walk over this bridge on his way to lecturing duties at the local German University between 1911 & 1912

British Railways Standard 8 Pacific 71000 Duke of Gloucester is back in the news again today but it's 15 years since she last visited the GCR. 71000 was of course based here straight from Woodham's scrapyard and during its overhaul long.
