they have a long shelf of all these succulents and cactuses, and i'm jealous. i hope to someday have that many living things in my home.
their studio is amazing, with plenty of large windows, and inspiring spaces.

I wanted to share one more picture before this palindrome day was over. The moon was bright and shining above us tonight and I thought it'd be the perfect opportunity to contribute an evening photo to the 11|11|11 Project.
Thanks to all those who commented on my earlier photo today and welcome to my new Flickr friends! I think it's great how events like this introduce people from half a world away to each other through the art of photography. I look forward to learning more about your side of the globe and seeing your awesome photography!
Happy Palindrome Day everybody and good night!
On this thoroughly palindromic date, we found ourselves drawing our lovely week to a close. It's true that all good things must come to an end, but that doesn't mean that the end has to be melancholic.
Having overnighted in Peebles, we decided to stop in Moffat to do some shopping at the legendary Moffat Toffee shop. This involves getting onto the A701 through a rather helpful little bridging B Road called the B712.
About halfway along we drove through some forest that, whilst not as pretty as that on the way into Elgin, was still well worth stopping the car for given that this time we could do it safely and conveniently.
Everything seemed to fall into place with the fascinating light and shadows. Could the whole thing have done with a bit more exposure? Probably, but I like the result anyway.
And now we're back home. And that's a lovely thing too. :)

I think Peanut's in love with carl_lexicon. cl wrote her a short palindrome that she could read: I'm a tuna nut, am I?
No one has ever written her a palindrome before and it touched her deeply. She just can't stop singing, "I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love with a wonderful Guy!"
However cool and palindromic the date may be today, it's still Remembrance Day, and so that's the photo.
It didn't start well as my clock radio crashed at 03:27 and when I rolled over thinking it was the middle of the night, it was actually about the time I should have been getting up.
Still, that behind me, I got into work and we had a really nice Remembrance ceremony that could have gone horribly wrong but didn't, and involved the laying of these wreaths.
Then it was a fab evening with an early doors theatre trip followed by a meal with Mike that was long overdue. The day got a lot better. :)
Well, not quite palindromic, but perhaps something slightly rarer - this odometer reading has rotational symmetry. That is, if you rotate it 180 degrees it will read the same.
Palindromic 66066 passes through Ashley on 14 March 2016 with the 13:54 Peak Forest to Arpley service, comprised of coal and Brunner Mond stone hoppers, two of which were still loaded. This marked the start of a very fruitful 90 minutes at Ashley, with four westbound freights and a light engine. And the sun didn't disappear behind the clouds either. Miracles will never cease.

Simply a photo for Flickr Friday group as the theme this week is palindrome. And I can't think of a better palindrome than RACECAR, being a motorsports fan, particularly, a Formula 1 fan since 1996.

I saw a lineup across the river at Roberts Street and decided to head down to my usual spot for the intercept since it was so beautiful out. Imagine my surprise when a duo of GEs came around the corner instead of a trio of SDs. But, the light was great and the big wings were glowing.

Strange to think I remember the loco entering service with Intercity and all being well but somewhat sadly I’ll see it end its service in a few years time too.
Pat's Pretty Pointless Python Program Produces Palindromic Primes....
And here is a version of the source code which generated the image
(with underscores representing the original's indentation):
[
def isPrime(i):
__ if 0 == i % 2: return 2 == i # ..... Evens are non-prime, except '2'
__ if 1 == i: return False # ............ Technically, 1 is not prime
__ for div in xrange(3, int( i**0.5 ) + 1, 2): # ... Check odd divisors up to my sqrt, inc.
____ if 0 == i % div: return False
__ return True
def palindromeEven(s): # ..... Mirror the full input => even-length output
__ return s + s[::-1] # ............ [::-1] means 'scan backwards, in steps of 1'
def palindromeOdd(s): # ...... Mirror the input, except its final character => odd-length output
__ return s + s[:-1][::-1] # ...... [:-1] means 'trim off the final character
def retGenPalints(): # .......... Return a generator of palindromic integers.
__ lo = 1 # ........................... Note: 'yield' returns each element of a re-entrant sequence
__ while True:
____ hi = lo * 10
____ for i in xrange(lo, hi): yield int( palindromeOdd( str(i) )) # ....... odd length
____ for i in xrange(lo, hi): yield int( palindromeEven( str(i) )) # ...... even length
____ lo = hi
def retGenPrimePalints(): # ........... Return a generator of prime palindromic integers.
__ return (n for n in retGenPalints() if isPrime(n)) # .. This is a 'generator expression'
def somePrimePalints(some): # ..... Return a list of 'some' prime palindromic integers.
__ genPrimePalints = retGenPrimePalints()
__ return list( genPrimePalints.next() for i in xrange(some) )
]
BTW: This approach is reasonably efficient, but certainly not optimal. I have another version, which runs faster, but is harder to understand.
