This is a reprocessed post of Eastatoe Falls from a few days ago. My neighbor, Mark, was telling me about Topaz Simplicity so I decided to try the 30-day trial. Here is my first attempt of adding just a touch of a painterly filter. I also recropped it and did a little more cloning work in Photoshop. I'd appreciate your feedback.

All photos and paintings are my own and inspired by Gerhard Richter’s experimental photopaintings.

I use acrylic paint onto an A4 acetate sheet. I merge the abstract painting with one of my photos in photoshop elements with minimal editing.

In some cases I use a scanner to produce the final composite image.

What was my favorite 60" RC electric powered Cub on a pond near Chilliwack, BC, is no more. I totaled it at a field in Burnaby a couple of weeks after this photo was taken. You can see it flying in a 2008 video here youtu.be/MNDYG42SdKo

The matte painting (which can be translated with painting backgrounds) is a technique used mainly in film used to allow the representation of landscapes or places otherwise too costly or impossible to reconstruct or reach directly.

Still combing the archives...I have THOUSANDS of images that, for one reason or another

(generally due to having NO FREE TIME!), I've never posted.

This one is from this last spring on a little day trip to the beautiful Muir Woods. I posted

another pic of this magical place last year. It's shown below.
