This is for no one in particular, no resemblance attempted, just something that was in my mind. An interior view. It grew out of some earlier portraits, but I went in another direction. This was, for the most part, pure painting, on my iPad, using iColorama.

It was not what I was thinking, but a little bird told me to keep pressing on.

Opposite the Squero di San Trovaso, one of the last shipyards in Venice that exclusively deals with the construction and repair of gondolas, I was able to observe this painter during our last visit to Venice in September 2018.

Hung Liu (1948-2021) was a Chinese-born American contemporary artist. Predominantly a painter, she also worked with mixed-media and site-specific installation and was also one of the first artists from China to establish a career in the United States. The title of this painting is most famously associated with the popular American song written in 1918 and, the West Ham United (British soccer team) anthem which stems from the 1918 song.

Saturday morning, the way you spend some hours doing what you want. Me shooting some nice pics, and others drawing a modernism building!

Have a nice week!!

This is a reprocessed post of Eastatoe Falls from a few days ago. My neighbor, Mark, was telling me about Topaz Simplicity so I decided to try the 30-day trial. Here is my first attempt of adding just a touch of a painterly filter. I also recropped it and did a little more cloning work in Photoshop. I'd appreciate your feedback.

All photos and paintings are my own and inspired by Gerhard Richter’s experimental photopaintings.

I use acrylic paint onto an A4 acetate sheet. I merge the abstract painting with one of my photos in photoshop elements with minimal editing.

In some cases I use a scanner to produce the final composite image.
