This paddle-wheeler is at the other end of the scale from the small craft in the first of my two paddle wheeler shots. This is of course, the mighty Murray Princess cruise boat. Here it was part way through what would have been a 3 or 4 night cruise and is just rounding the magnificent cliffs at Big Bend on the Murray River near the small settlement of Nildottie. Local orange and almond orchards can be seen along the skyline above the cliffs.
This was taken a year and a half ago, and needed a little advance planning to get the exact times right for when it would be passing by the Big Bend lookout. This was third time lucky after missing out on a couple of previous attempts.

Little bit on the chilly side, but it was fairly sunny and no rain! Enjoying what's left of the summer here : )
There was no goose covering theses eggs even from a distance where I paddled. Often the mother goose will lay down and be very quiet as I paddle by. Hopefully it will return and properly manage the eggs. A view of a typical goose covering a nest below…
Made a collage of some of the 30 some girls out on their paddle boards.. They do it now because the water is too cold around Halloween. Just paddlers having some fun.
We seem to be stuck in a perpetual October weather pattern. Not that I'm complaining as it's nice to be able to paddle this time of year!
