This paddler on the Waikato River may have been too focused on working against the current to notice the sunrise unfolding in front of him?!
Two years ago I saw a shot by lakaluka that I just loved. It left an impression on me so much that I decided to take a pic as an ode to that shot. It was a 45 degree shot at the beach . She was on a paddle board with water beading on her skin. I really like how it grabbed me and placed me right in the middle of summer. It's strange how a pic can illicit emotion, not in the dirty way many of you would think, it just gave me great summer vibes.

Here is my recreation.
There is magic in the feel of a paddle and the movement of a canoe, a magic compounded of distance, adventure, solitude and peace.

The board paddler and his faithful companion are a common sight at White Rock.
I am always both amazed and impressed by their balance.
They travel together, mastering some of the most challenging waves. The temperature of the seasons never seems to deter their efforts.
The BNSF Railway line passes through White Rock along the beach before turning north around Ocean Park and Crescent Beach.

Paddle boards for rent at White Beach in Boracay Island. The crowd here was already sparse when this photo was taken more than a month ago. Now it is almost completely deserted due to the Coronavirus lockdown.
This lady told me afterward that she enjoyed the paddling in such a serene place so much that she could not describe the feeling with words. I'm sure she did as I appreciated the beautiful sunset and the turning fall colors with mirror-like reflections.
Still water and clear sky as we transition from winter to spring. Our goal was to capture a beautiful sunset on the first Spring evening paddle.

Hot summer days :)

Bow lake: in a cloudy morning; amazed by the magnificent peaks and reflections on the lake. The view is stunning. Few people around, spending some time walking around the lake, the scenery of Canadian Rockies is out of this world. Was about to leave, found a guy paddling on the lake, returning again, following this guy for a while, the reflection was intervening by the waves, but giving the different perspective.
These colorful paddle boards caught my eye as I started out for a morning walk around Takhalkh Lake this past summer.
What better time to go for a paddle with other kayakers on Port Phillip Bay but sunset on a sunny winter's evening? Near Sandringham Beach. We don't often get bright sunny days and clear evenings in winter. The Bureau of Meteorology has reported that while our daytime temperatures recently have been fairly normal, the evening temperatures have been substantially higher than normal. I have added some processing to this scene for Sliders Sunday. HSS
