Dipper - Cinclus Cinclus
aka Water Ouzel
Dippers are members of the genus Cinclus in the bird family Cinclidae, named for their bobbing or dipping movements. They are unique among passerines for their ability to dive and swim underwater.
They have a characteristic bobbing motion when perched beside the water, giving them their name. While under water, they are covered by a thin, silvery film of air, due to small bubbles being trapped on the surface of the plumage.
Dippers are found in suitable freshwater habitats in the highlands of the Americas, Europe and Asia. In Africa they are only found in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. They inhabit the banks of fast-moving upland rivers with cold, clear waters, though, outside the breeding season, they may visit lake shores and sea coasts.
The high haemoglobin concentration in their blood gives them a capacity to store oxygen greater than that of other birds, allowing them to remain underwater for thirty seconds or more, whilst their basal metabolic rate is approximately one-third slower than typical terrestrial passerines of similar mass. One small population wintering at a hot spring in Suntar-Khayata Mountains of Siberia feeds underwater when air temperatures drop below −55 °C (−67 °F).
Dippers are completely dependent on fast-flowing rivers with clear water, accessible food and secure nest-sites. They may be threatened by anything that affects these needs such as water pollution, acidification and turbidity caused by erosion. River regulation through the creation of dams and reservoirs, as well as channelization, can degrade and destroy dipper habitat.
Dippers are also sometimes hunted or otherwise persecuted by humans for various reasons. The Cyprus race of the white-throated dipper is extinct. In the Atlas Mountains dippers are claimed to have aphrodisiacal properties. In parts of Scotland and Germany, until the beginning of the 20th century, bounties were paid for killing dippers because of a misguided perception that they were detrimental to fish stocks through predation on the eggs and fry of salmonids.

You know I was broke down, I had hit the ground
I was crying out, couldn't make no sound
No one hears silent tears collecting
You know I had lost hope, I was all alone
Never been so low 'til you came along
Teacher, I feel the dots connecting
Beat down on me, beat down like a waterfall
Cause I can take on so much more than I had ever dreamed
So beat down on me, beat down like a waterfall
'Cause baby, I am ready to be free
Now I am invincible
No, I ain't a scared little girl no more
Yeah, I am invincible
What was I running for
I was hiding from the world
I was so afraid, I felt so unsure
Now I am invincible
And I'm a perfect storm
Now I am a warrior, a shooting star
You know I got this far, I had a broken heart
No one hears silent tears collecting
'Cause it's being weak that's strong
In the truth I found
I have courage now, I'm gonna shout it out
Teacher, I feel the dots connecting
Beat down on me, beat down like a waterfall
'Cause I can take on so much more than I had ever dreamed
So beat down on me, beat down like a waterfall
'Cause baby, I am ready to be free
Now I am invincible
No, I ain't a scared little girl no more
Yeah, I am invincible
What was I running for
I was hiding from the world
I was so afraid, I felt so unsure
Now I am invincible
And I'm a perfect storm
I was running from an empty threat
Of emptiness
I was running from an empty threat
That didn't exist
I was running from an empty threat
Of abandonment
I was running from an empty threat
That didn't exist
But now I am invincible
No, I ain't a scared little girl no more
Yeah, I am invincible
What was I running for
I was hiding from the world
I was so afraid, I felt so unsure
Now I am invincible
And I'm a perfect storm...

The animals of the planet are in desperate peril. Without free animal life I believe we will lose the spiritual equivalent of oxygen.
Alice Walker
"You are the oxygen of my lungs, I am starving for your breath"
Water has always been a constant in our dynamics. Our very first collaboration told a story of a mermaid trying to pull a man with her into the water. Now that very man dived head first to meet her again, except this time she swimmed up to him to breathe oxygen into his lungs. Or maybe he was the one who did breathe into her. Probably a bit of both, but most of all an excuse to kiss each others lips as the encounter was more about feelings and attraction than to pull the other into their respective world. Simply meeting halfway with the anticipation of tasting one another. They say no water nor earth can come between the inevitable...

In the way you're meant to
I couldn't say for sure
But wouldn't ask for more
And you say "rest assured"
We were made for this
We were made for this
Called me out before
In forward motion
To still this heart upon
All my troubled waters
And you say "rest assured"
We were made for this
Sooner or later we'll know
A feeling on the inside
It's only a matter of time
We were made for this
We were made for this
Sooner or later we'll know
A feeling on the inside
For only what matters
We were made for this
We were made for this"

Originally the moated castle was used as a shelter and workshop for the dockers, who carried out the maintenance and repair of the hydraulic storage winches. They were called Windenwächter or Windenwächter and had - in addition to other technical personnel - the privilege to live in the Speicherstadt.
The winches were an important component of the storage buildings: there were - and still are today - no freight elevators. All goods were drawn with winches on the outside to the facades to or from the storage floors of the store.
The spare parts required for the maintenance work, some of them heavy, could be transported from here over the roads and canals. On the waterway over two cranes on the east side of the building, on land over an old paved road that leads directly into the building and ends behind the large double doors of the water castle.
Nowadays the building is used commercially. On the ground floor there is a commercial space for tea trade with attached gastronomy. On the first floor, a provider of oxygen therapy is located. Because of its location and architecture, it also served as a backdrop for television productions, such as the TV series "Die Pfefferkörner".
The Wasserschlösschen also trades under the name "Außenentraustelle" of the registry office Hamburg-Mitte.

Story:
Vestrahorn Mountain, located in Iceland, is a breathtaking natural wonder. With its imposing black rock ridges and black sand beach, it captivates visitors with its unique beauty. The stark contrast between the dark mountain peaks and the black sand creates a visually striking scene. Vestrahorn is a popular destination for nature lovers and photographers seeking to capture the magnificence of this fascinating landscape, offering a truly memorable experience.
The Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, is a mesmerizing celestial phenomenon that graces the night skies in polar regions. This dazzling display of lights is a result of interactions between the Earth's magnetic field and charged particles from the sun. One of the most enchanting aspects of the Aurora Borealis is its vibrant array of colors. The dancing lights can appear in hues of green, blue, red, yellow, and even purple. The green color, the most common, comes from oxygen molecules approximately 60 miles above the Earth. The different colors are produced by variations in altitude and the type of gas particles involved in the collision. Each color adds its own magical touch to the spectacle, painting the night sky with an ethereal and ever-changing palette. Witnessing the vivid colors of the Aurora Borealis is a truly awe-inspiring experience that leaves a lasting impression on all who have the privilege to see it.

I have heard the old saying all my life that when a mountain is foggy, the rabbits are making coffee. Silly, but a fun story when you are a kid.
White Oak Mountain here at home.
The rabbits must have had several pots brewing at once. 😁

Part of the façade of the oxygen plant at the former the Peenemünde Army Research Center (Heeresversuchsanstalt Peenemünde). The first functioning large rocket, Aggregat 4 (A4, which became known as the "retaliatory weapon" (Vergeltungswaffe) V2), was developed and tested at the Army Research Center. The A4/V2 rocket was propelled by a mixture of diluted alcohol and liquid oxygen. For its production, a dedicated large-scale production plant was built (today under monument protection).

Bad weather in Madeira at the north west coast. On the right, you see the old road. This is no longer used. You can go on foot. After rainfall, however, it can be very dangerous because of the rockfall (and spontaneous waterfalls;)). So be careful.
Today, there are comfortable and safe tunnel passes.
