The Overlander is the train from Auckland to Wellington; it runs through scenic countryside and up over the volcanic plateau in central North Island.

Day 5. Attack of the camp ninja after discovering the culprit who put rocks in my back pack!

Snow looks nice on the pictures but was quite exhausting to walk through. Especially in areas where it was knee deep.

James's shoes went apart after the first day hiking... Borrowed some duck type from the Rangers but those shoes were not water proof any more...

He used plastic bags as water proof in the rest of the trip.
