Orchid

Sorry about the background

(Platanthera bifolia) Seen in large numbers across Western Scotland

An unusual colour variation of the popular species from the easternmost State of India, Arunachal Pradesh, south central China and across Asia into Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.

What an outstanding hybrid cross! Made by Dan Dickey, this is C. Esbetts x Laelia alaorii. The flowers are quite large at 5" across, blooming on a compact plant in a 3" pot. The flowers are delightfully fragrant.

Another from Gary. Quite lovely. Is it harrisoniana or loddigesii?

Sepals 4mm petals 2 mm, leaves 6-7 x 1.1.2 cm

These are some of this week's beauties from Sunset Valley Orchids.

Very nice rare yellow with flares from this cross!

My orchid is just starting to bloom. What a great Christmas present, I have been waiting for a year for this to bloom again. Must be a Christmas Orchid
