Spiral Orb created to perfection by Montoff. Taken on the rocks just north of Cullercoats. Thanks to Gopostal 1 and Montoff for an enjoyable session of light painting and spinning with the wool.

A beautiful Cross Orb-weaver sits patiently awaiting the next meal.

Taken at 05:20 this morning stood on Round Hill at Wittenham Clumps. I was chasing the mist this morning and although I managed to get some classic misty shots, I was transfixed by the clear sun rising above the horizon. Without the aid of any filters I gambled on the fact that the sun was still low in the sky and the atmosphere will act as a natural filter to reduce the glare. I managed to coax my Sony A77 and the simply wonderful Tamron SP 70-200 into getting the shot and with the use of some dodging and burning using lightroom brushes, I managed to coax some detail out of the sky and ensure the foreground retained its detail. Colour balance is pretty much as shot. Enjoy!

Winter/Dawn

Such a surprise to find the sun hanging in the sky, diffused by mist just waiting for a capture. One of the best sunrises that I have had the pleasure of witnessing...and I have seen many here! Wow!

Managed to get into London this morning to practice orbing. I'm still not making clean spheres. If any orbers have any advise on technique i would love to hear from them.

The amazing thing about these pictures of orbs is that we could all actually see them with our own eyes when the flash went off. So all these discussions about it being something to do with the camera are no longer valid!

They were all quite close to us.

The bright light in the centre is the full moon.

Orb-weaver spiders or araneids are members of the spider family Araneidae. They are the most common group of builders of spiral wheel-shaped webs often found in gardens, fields and forests

Straight Out Of Camera (SOOC).

Finally got around to building the Orb (Power Gem) from Guardians of the Galaxy. Enjoyed being able to use the Death Star halves for something else.

Three Infinity Stones down after the Cosmic Cube and the Aether. I need to get on the Mind Gem though, because Doctor Strange is coming and with it, stone #5. My bet is the Soul Gem, but it could be Time as well I suppose.

Might tweak the stands a bit before ECCE 2017.

“Will you walk into my parlour?” said the Spider to the Fly,

'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;

The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,

And I've a many curious things to show when you are there.”

“Oh no, no,” said the little Fly, “to ask me is in vain,

For who goes up your winding stair

-can ne'er come down again.”

The full-orbed soul floods her ethereal light;

Purer than pure moonbeams shineth her wondrous ray;

For, through the racking fire, she winged her upward flight...
