Outside AT&T (now Oracle) Park, San Francisco. SF Giants.

Walgreens was winning when we left in mid-game. My mom said I had to get home before dark. Oracle Park, San Francisco.

LaMonte Wade Jr. (throwing), Darin Ruff (standing), and Larry Baer (walking).

This is Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, formerly SBC Park, formerly AT&T Park, former Pac Bell Park -- I kind of feel sorry for this ballpark and some of its brethren that suffer identity crises every couple of years as some new corporate entity pays the big bucks for naming rights. I'll shamelessly quote Wikapedia on the subject: "Some fans still refer to the stadium as Pac Bell Park, as it was the first name given to the stadium. Others have nicknamed the stadium "The Phone Booth" or "Telephone Park", in response to its multiple name changes, while some referred to the stadium as "Some Big Corporation Park" during the SBC years. Others yet refer to it as "Mays Field" in honor of Giants great Willie Mays or simply "The Bell".[18] Many also refer to the stadium as "China Basin" or "McCovey Cove" after its location, which would be immune to changes in sponsorship naming."

In any case, this ballpark has one of the best (if not the best) views of any MLB park--it is an excellent place to watch a game, especially on the 3rd base side as where this picture is taken.

Photo was taken on July 18th -- it was a heck of a game featuring 9 innings by Bumgarner of the Giants, and 8 innings by Syndergaard of the Mets -- the game was tied till the 16th when the Giants finally won. At bat in the photo is Buster Posey of the Giants.

Buster Posey and "Late Night" LaMonte Wade Jr. celebrate after Wade's walk-off single in the 9th inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks September 30, 2021. Final score: Giants 5, Diamondbacks 4. Giants improve to 105-54, and maintain their 2 game lead over the Dodgers in the NL West.

Josh Rojas singles in the top of the 9th inning as the Diamondback beat the Giants in SF 5-0 on Thursday afternoon. This is one of two photographs of mine that were published in the August 19th edition of the Hobbs News-Sun.

Lefty O'Doul Bridge and statue of Juan Marichal at Oracle Park, home of the SF Giants

Here's Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, taken shortly after sunrise from the south side of McCovey Cove. You can see the grandstand, the scoreboard, and the walkway with arches along the water. Several of those arches open onto a view of the playing field, and there's no charge for watching a few innings of a game from there. As with some of the other stadiums, it was built new to look old, with a brick façade.

During a game, lots of small craft hang out in this cove, hoping to retrieve a home run. As of today, there have been 107 such "splash homers", but there are also some foul balls that go out. You can see the yellow right field foul pole in the center of the image. The stadium opened in 2000 (flic.kr/p/2kM5BBR) as PacBell Park, with Barry Bonds having hit the most splash homers.

Downtown San Francisco is about a 20-30 minute walk and you can see Salesforce Tower in the background.

The San Francisco Giants closed out their first home-stand of the season in dramatic fashion. Down 6-1 to the Cincinnati Reds in the 6th inning, the Giants rallied to tie the game 6-6, capitalized by a Mike Yastrzemski walk off home run into McCovey cove in the 10th. Now with a 9-3 record to start the season, the Giants are out on a 10 game road trip to New York, Philadelphia and Anaheim. This season is off to a great start so far.
