An evening exploring African photography, fashion, style and identity. The evening will look back to image-makers who captured the excitement, optimism and sense of freedom of post-independence African nations from the 1960s, and forward to a new generation of ‘Afropolitans’, global tastemakers whose sensibilities are rooted in their African identities.
I haven't had the best spring, upstairs, so whatever the results, the action of just going out and shooting made me feel a little more like myself again.

This branch practically jumped off into my hand while watering the plants this afternoon. A lot of people refer to this plant as a money plant, so I'm taking that as a good omen for my finances.
What's left of the 1856 Memphis & Charleston Freight Depot, which was ravaged by fire in March 2004. Portions of its walls still stand and have been braced to keep them from falling. The preservation community hopes to see this structure rebuilt.
