This was our 3 h build in the duel of the first episode of LM. The object was to show how half a pair of glasses was being repaired. Very happy with what we were able to put together in that short amount of time. It netted us the win and that meant we came away with the Diamond Brick 😄🎉.

070/365,
Both plastic leg protectors were replaced as the originals hardened and disintegrated.
My optician who sold me the pair said the frame was out of production and they could not repair them.
Special thanks to Heather at, All Canadian Eyeglass Repair on Imperial in Burnaby.
She repaired them while I waited within 15 minutes after walking in with no appointment.

The Mercedes-Benz Typ 380 is an eight cylinder powered automobile introduced by the German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz at the Berlin Motor Show in February 1933. It was withdrawn from production during 1934. Several models with similar names were produced by Mercedes-Benz during the 1930s (and again in the 1980s), so that in retrospect the car is frequently identified using the manufacturer's Works Number as the Mercedes-Benz W22. (The car is sometimes referred to as the Mercedes-Benz Typ 380 K, presumably because of the "Kompressor" (Supercharger) fitted on the faster cars, but this designation was never officially used by the manufacturer.)
In 1933, the Mercedes-Benz 380 sports tourer was one of the most advanced cars on the market, and was duly admired although in the end, with only 154 produced over two years, it proved in some respects a resounding failure.
Well, this is it: the new model I am going to wear soon. It was really cool to choose it (god, I think I tried at least every model in the shop...) because I had the help of my friends: Dani took me to his optician which happens to be our friend Miguel. So he took care of helping and advising me. Also, Miguel's friend Jose (the gorgeous chap in the mirror) was there as well as Alex and they all gave their opinion which I appreciated much! Finally, Jelle was sent the pictures of the final choices by iPhone and gave his opinion by phone as well. It was fun and great and I never felt more comfortable and well taken care of before.
Oh, and yes, this was in Madrid, in case you wondered.

Copán is an archaeological site of the Maya civilization located in the Copán Department of western Honduras, not far from the border with Guatemala. It was the capital city of a major Classic period kingdom from the 5th to 9th centuries AD. The city was located in the extreme southeast of the Mesoamerican cultural region, on the frontier with the Isthmo-Colombian cultural region, and was almost surrounded by non-Maya peoples. In this fertile valley now lies a city of about 3000, a small airport, and a winding road.
Copán was occupied for more than two thousand years, from the Early Preclassic period right through to the Postclassic. The city developed a distinctive sculptural style within the tradition of the lowland Maya, perhaps to emphasize the Maya ethnicity of the city's rulers.
The city has a historical record that spans the greater part of the Classic period and has been reconstructed in detail by archaeologists and epigraphers. Copán was a powerful city ruling a vast kingdom within the southern Maya area. The city suffered a major political disaster in AD 738 when Uaxaclajuun Ub'aah K'awiil, one of the greatest kings in Copán's dynastic history, was captured and executed by his former vassal, the king of Quiriguá. This unexpected defeat resulted in a 17-year hiatus at the city, during which time Copán may have been subject to Quiriguá in a reversal of fortunes.
A significant portion of the eastern side of the acropolis has been eroded away by the Copán River, although the river has since been diverted in order to protect the site from further damage.
Whilst in Thailand we visited "Monkey Hill", on the outskirts of Phuket and popular for its families of wild Macaque monkey's that live there scavenging and pillaging from locals and tourists that visit. The monkey's are very inquisitive and extremely confident of humans but certain individuals could be very aggressive and protective if thought to be under threat. This chap decided to jump on my back and do a little preening of my head and ears before grabbing my glasses and doing a runner, thankfully after a little chasing and gentle persuasion we traded them back for a shiny pen, a trip to the opticians then on the cards for a repair job.
I think an appointment at the dentist and optician is long overdue.
This street art was actually done on two walls. This is why the two halves of the face are not the same.
I had a scary problem with my eyes which meant a quick visit to opticians (or a&e - I opted for the opticians), apparently I have a Subconjunctival hemorrhage, in my right eye, meaning dark glasses are a must just to save frightening anyone. All should be fine in a couple of weeks, so once I knew that I enjoyed a wander around being snap happy in the lovely sunshine.

Ta Prohm (pronunciation: prasat taprohm) is the modern name of the temple at Angkor, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, built in the Bayon style largely in the late 12th and early 13th centuries and originally called Rajavihara (in Khmer: រាជវិហារ). Located approximately one kilometre east of Angkor Thom and on the southern edge of the East Baray, it was founded by the Khmer King Jayavarman VII:125]:388 as a Mahayana Buddhist monastery and university.
Unlike most Angkorian temples, Ta Prohm is in much the same condition in which it was found: the photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of Angkor's most popular temples with visitors. UNESCO inscribed Ta Prohm on the World Heritage List in 1992. Today, it is one of the most visited complexes in Cambodia’s Angkor region. The conservation and restoration of Ta Prohm is a partnership project of the Archaeological Survey of India and the APSARA (Authority for the Protection and Management of Angkor and the Region of Siem Reap).

U9 (S188) was a Type 205 submarine of the German Navy. She was laid down on 10 December 1964 by Howaldtswerke of Kiel. U9 was launched on 20 October 1966 and commissioned on 11 April 1967.
She was decommissioned on 3 June 1993, and is now a museum ship at Technikmuseum Speyer in Speyer.
The submarine U9 was built by the Kieler Howaldtswerke and put into service on 11 April 1967. The boat belongs to the submarine classification 205 and thus to the third generation of German U-boats. It weights 466 tons, is 46 m long, 5 m wide and has a draught of 4 m. The nominal submerged depth was 100 m, and it was armed with eight torpedo-guns at the bow. The U9, which is also completely accessible for the visitors of the Technik MUSEUM SPEYER, was transported from Wilhelmshaven to Speyer in a highly spectacular action.

The Railway Museum (Spoorwegmuseum) in Utrecht is the Dutch national railway museum. It was established in 1927 and since 1954 has been housed in the "Maliebaan station", a former railway station.
The museum was established in 1927 and was initially located in one of the main buildings of the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (Dutch National Railroad) in Utrecht. At that time, the collection consisted mostly of pictures, documents, and small objects. In the 1930s the first steps were taken to conserve old historically significant rail equipment. A portion of this collection was lost during World War II.
This is an advertising "sculpture" located outside an optician's shop in Lucerne, Switzerland. I guess the aim is to show that they have glasses for the whole family...but that baby scares me.

The temple of Ta Prohm was used as a location in the film Tomb Raider. Although the film took visual liberties with other Angkorian temples, its scenes of Ta Prohm were quite faithful to the temple's actual appearance, and made use of its eerie qualities.
