I had to move from xp home to xp pro this week. to use visual studio (for the new project I'm working on).
Luckily it was a relatively smooth upgrade, but it'll still take weeks to get everything back in order.
When it comes to the worldwide smartphone operating system (OS) market, Android and iOS are together, but not the same. Google and Apple’s mobile operating systems are, to no one’s surprise, completely dominating the world, shipping on a combined 96.3 percent of smartphone units in 2014, acc...

Yesterday's Windows 10 install has continued to work well. I'm digging the new UI and the return of the start menu (although since my home gaming PC skipped right over Windows 8, I haven't really missed it on this system. Only my work PC runs Win8 and it's crazy version of the start screen.)
Haven't tried the voice portion of Cortana yet, but I might this weekend. Did run a few text searches through it and it was nice. Very reminiscent of searching for things on Mac OS. Although the "ask me anything" phrasing is a neat way to get users to interact with it and convey what it should be able to do :-)
The latest distribution of Ubutu, Lucid Lynx, on my work laptop, with a vertically-aligned monitor attached.
Decided to install Ubuntu on my Lenovo laptop which was getting pretty slow under Win7. Ubuntu is lightning fast in comparison (at least on this computer).
The install process is amazing, certainly something Microsoft should rip off. Boot up from the Install CD/Live CD and install while you surf the web or listen to music. Basically a fully functioning OS before its even completely installed, fantastic!
It's been a while since I last used Ubuntu so the new features and the nice new look was a pleasant surprise. No issues with drivers what so ever, everything worked from the get-go.
Dual-boot is another plus, Win7 is still intact on this PC. Ubuntu just "stole" some of the harddrive space, no need to format.
Ubuntu is totally free.

The day after my Snow Leopard install.
I have Snow Leopard on my new iMac at work and fell in love with it, so I got it for my iMac at home.
Also, I love Coda.
Apple launched its operating system named macOS Mojave last week. It comes with improved performance, as slick dark mode, and with new Safari browser version.

Found an awesome program that allows me to have FULL control of my Android phone right from my desktop. I can use the mouse on the touchscreen and can use my keyboard to text message (and other messaging functions).
Its amazing what can be done with open source operating system.
