in the summer of 2012 Dollshe Craft announced an event of bringing back their old boy sculpts before they then will discontinue their existing line-up of dolls. i kind of missed my hound since i sold him in 2009, a little at first and more with time. when i heard about this i seized the opportunity and ordered my very own hound in the beginning of July 2012.
here he is now, with (almost) all his goodies i've ordered him over the time i've waited for him. almost, because the pants haven't arrived yet, poor guy, hehe. and i have some plans with different props, one of them i am still waiting on also.
once again our house is graced with the lanky goodness of a Dollshe guy.
his name is Edmund :D
(yep i knew his name for several months already, funny how that goes)
My G&G twins, Grenadine and Glycine, had a new toy box for their bedroom and they decided to customize it themselves...
This is for Jeremy Norbury who wanted to know how this tree progressed this growing season. This winter I'll pinch and prune to tidy it up, then find a nice pot to put it in sometime late spring.
Here you go Jeremy.
Last photo is here.
Here's my collected Honeysuckle today after repotting. I removed the first branch after much thought and the firm opinion of Martin Schmalenberg, a friend, teacher, and reknowned bonsai artist. It was repotted at the angle I suggested way back in tis photo.
And www.flickr.com/photos/openeye/2239403255/in/set-137497/ the tree two years ago.
Pot is by British potter Ian Baillie courtesy of my friend John Cotoggio who sold me the pot. The debris on top of the soil is chopped sphagnum moss as you've seen in other photos of freshly repotted trees.
- 18 celsius outside. We both had such cold hands after this photoshoot ^u^''
I have narrowed the possible names down to Mink & Miso. Haven't completely managed to forget Mina either. With dark brown wig, she looks more like Mink, with this one maybe more like Miso. Wish this was easier X)
No, I think she could become Mink...

February 12th, 2010.
With all but the grey one - now nicknamed "trouble" - having opened their eyes, all they wanted to do was explore. Their mum wasn't too happy, I don't think, because she'd moved their castle to block the way out of their hutch's sleeping quarters.
No good pictures from this day because it was pouring with rain.
heaps and heaps in comments

Here's a current picture of the bonsai in training.
It came inside in October. Once it acclimated I took a saw to the roots to get a flat base (quite a savage process) and put it in a temporary training pot. The tree recovered and sent out lots of new growth. Today I pruned a lot of that growth off, added a bit of wire and set it back under the lights to continue development.
For referance, the last photo of this tree is here. Not too bad for seven months...

Photo by: Thouznd Words KristiHedbergPhotography.com Just several days before I lost my hair with chemo treatments for Breast Cancer. I am looking for the strength of my grandparents wearing my grandfather's overalls.
This is an animated gif of my larch made from two images one week apart. View it in the original size to see the animation.
After seeing Steve Tolley of the UK style larches over the last week, I learned how to improve the tree I had styled last week.
From the "droopy" branch ends before to the more stable pads created by flattening the ends.
This is after taking off a piece of the first back branch that grew to the right close to the trunk. It had the appearance of growing inside a curve which always upsets the eye and line of a tree. That's why its one of the "rules" of bonsai to remove all branches growing on the inside of a curve. It also appeared to be opposite the second left branch creating the appearance of a "bar" branch, another no-no.
Here is a photo taken last December.
