Well, not exactly in business, but at least she's back at home.

Above she is seen at a photography exhibition held at Liverpool's Open Eye Gallery a few years ago.

It's Spring, when most of the substantial work on bonsai is performed. This is a little juniper that was given to me when I asked the owners to adopt some of the driveway junipers they were digging up. They told me, "oh, we have a little bonsai that we've had for years, but we're tired of caring for it." At the time, it was about 8 inches tall and 14" wide. Now it's 4.75" from the tip of the cascade to the top of the deadwood. about the same from side to side.

I love Spring!

To see it with another object for perspective, look here.

Card I made for Cody XD

this holiday is such a joke, lol

There are words that I don't know,

There are words that I'm still learning.

There are words that I'll remember,

There are words that I'll forget.

There are words I've learned to love,

There are words I've learned to hate.

Three words to sum up everything I've learned about life,

It Goes On...

SOOC other than crop,

that's a real polaroid

I love photoshoots.

That's why I shoot for free,

becasue I don't want to be a photographer for the money

I'd be ok working at Mcdonalds for the rest of my life

if it meant I could do photoshoots all the time!

I just like taking pictures

I really can't describe it

It's more than just a hobby, it's more than a passion

I'm obsessed, soooo obsessed

I just want to take pictures. that's all.

Here's my Scots pine informal upright after a season of rest. It was unwired last summer and allowed to "bulk up." It was too thin after some stress last year. See this photo here.

I'll wire this tree later this fall or winter and post another shot.

This is my Korean hornbeam forest after renovation and repotting. Created by my teacher, Colin Lewis at the 2003 MidAtlantic Bonsai Societies spring festival, I won the raffle and cared for it since then. Many of the small trees didn't make it over the years. The ones that did grew older and thicker. Yesterday, Colin and I rearranged trees and freshened the soil.

Here's the group in Spring 2005. Feel free to dig through my bonsai set for other pictures through the years.

I'll be submitting this tree for inclusion in the 2nd US National Bonsai Exhibibition. Wish me luck.

he got new clothes, my dear boy, he looks so nice I think!

Here's a before and after of a kingsville boxwood bonsai at the Shanti Bithi bonsai nursery in Stamford, CT. The after image is the result of about 3 to 3.5 hours of pruning and trimming. Note the angle change that will be finalized at repotting next spring (when it will be placed in a shallower pot too). The before photo is here.

It's all I can do to stop myself from doing another hours worth of detail work. Did I mention how much fun it is to do this work?

Unfortunately low-rez scan - still looking for an affordable quality service (not that the quality of service or open-eyes is in question – it's just a premium to get 15MB Tiffs…)

My very first Maternity shoot,

I think it went pretty well!

Opinions?

Give me attention

I need it now

So much suspence

To measure it out - out loud

Chasing patterns over personal maps

Making pictures where the line overlap

Where the lines overlap

No one is as lucky as us

Oo not a given or nobody won

No one is as lucky as us

Is as lucky as us

Falling over, into the crowd

Well you've come so far

Never making a single sound

I'm not used to it

But I can learn

There's nothing to it

I've never been happier

Never been happier

No one is as lucky as us

Oo not a given or nobody won

No one is as lucky as us

Is as lucky as us

Now I've got a feeling if I sing this loud enough

You will sing it back to me

I've got a feeling if I say this loud enough

You will sing it back to me

I've got a feeling

I've got a feeling

That you will sing it back to me

You will sing it back to me

No one is as lucky as us

Oo not a given or nobody was

No one is as lucky as us

Is as lucky as us

Is as lucky as us

Botanic Beer Co., 30 Low Hill, Liverpool

This pint beer bottle dates from around 1890-1900 and was issued by the Botanic Beer Company, 30 Low Hill, Liverpool. It is made from three separate moulded sections of thick green glass fused together. It is bold embossed with the words :

"BOTANIC BEER Co.

TRADE MARK

30 LOW HILL

LIVERPOOL"

The trade mark is in the form of an Egyptian style “open eye”.

The bottle has an applied internal screw type lip and its original wooden/hard cork screw stopper carved out of a single piece.

Another small piece of Liverpool’s history.

The original tree is here. In the intervening years it was styled as a semi-cascade, then eaten by deer back to almost nothing. Yesterday I realized a vision I had to twist the trunk and get the foliage closer to the base of the tree. Working with the excellent East Coast bonsai artist Martin Schmalenberg, we applied raffia tightly, then set this shape with wire on the trunk and guy wires in two spots.

Now I'll feed it like crazy and develop the foliage pads.

Hip hoppp and ballet (:

I think I'll post more in comments (:

A quick pic of this tree after defioliation and a bit of wire.

After looking at this photo, I realize I need to add a bit of wire to one of the upper branches on the right.

Here is the tree in the fall. And here back in May 2008.

10/28/08 - I'm definitely more truthful than I used to be. I'm comfortable enough with myself to show people my flaws, if they're willing.

Below is a poem I wrote for English today: it is very stupid.

"The tree's blossoms slowly faded,

along with the chill, silent night,

as the owls began to sing.

Our smiles slowly faded,

along with the color in our dreams,

and the hope they used to bring."

I got voted Vice President of Spanish Club today. YAY!

so afraid << MUST!!!

"Just what are you so afraid of?

You're staring truth in the face, so come on down."

- Underoath.

Britni Nicole Kenney, the best gosh darn assistant a photographer could ask for!

She's going to be going with me to alot of my future shoots,

so we can learn from eachother,

and one day, we'll both be great photographers!

Be on the lookout for her stuff! I'll post linkz (:
