It's good to pay attention when you are out and about with camera in hand. As you people watch learn to anticipate when a "decisive moment" may be getting ready to happen. I was pretty much ready and as I saw this guy on the rock above the pool and turning around I knew something good was happening. The only bad part is that I didn't have my camera on drive mode so I only got one shot but at least it was a good one.
I remember coming to this water fall when camping at Fowler's Camp about 47 years ago. There was no parking lot or paved road to the Lower Falls. Just a dirt trail from the camp. There was at one time a big log that had fallen from the top of the falls and the water running over the log made for an excellent water slide.

The little boy in the sunglasses above is my brother, Bob. Although there was eight years difference in our ages, Bob and I were always close. One of my favorite memories about him has to do with the Saturday afternoon comics. When we were kids, Greensboro had an afternoon newspaper, the Greensboro Record. I remember sitting on the front porch waiting for the paperboy to deliver the paper. Like Sunday's, Saturday's comics were in color. I was too young to read so Bob read the comics to me. His favorite was Alley Oop. The main character was a caveman with a dinosaur and a girlfriend. Bob has been gone for several years and sitting on the front porch waiting for the comics was over sixty years ago. Yet, even now I can see the old neighborhood, feel the boards of the porch under me and experience the excitement of waiting with my brother for Alley Oop to arrive.

Alley Oop Park in Iraan, Texas - 1976. The painting is Alley's girlfriend Ooola.
The Park is in Iraan (a small town in Pecos County) because the creator of the comic strip - V. T. Hamlin - lived in the town while working in the oil business in the late 1920's. This was before he created the comic strip.
In the 2020 census, Iraan had a population of 1,037.

Bristol Omnibus Company's used buses found a ready second home, many of them in the north of England, presumably having passed through the dealer Norths, who was based near Leeds. Former Bristol Joint Services C8319, UHY359, a 1955 Bristol KSW6B with ECW 60 seat open platform body, is seen here on September 11th 1974 at Newton Aycliffe with Voy of that town. The bus survives today with The Bristol Omnibus Vehicle Collection - www.bristolbuses.co.uk - although it has yet to be restored: sister buses C8320 and C8322 are restored and often appear at rallies in the Bristol area.
One wonders what the "northern" passengers made of the fact thatb the bus was never fitted with a passenger heater!
