Blackbird on the Pyracantha in our back garden.

A Fallow Buck reaching for the browse early this morning in a rain sodden Dunham Park. You can just see that he is now beginning to shed the velvet from his antlers.

It's amazaing the lengths some of the acts will go to in order to get their posters visible.

The hoopoe takes its common and scientific name (Upupa) from its "oop-oop-oop" cry. Noted for its distinctive crest, the hoopoe needs lightly vegetated ground for foraging and vertical surfaces with cavities (such as trees, cliffs or even walls) for nesting. It mostly eats insects, although small reptiles and frogs as well as some plant matter such as seeds and berries are also taken. Its long beak is used to penetrate the ground.

And why a bird shot after innumerable bug shots? Finally have a 55-250 mm lens, so I hope to have some fun with it!

:) that so easy

Downtown Vancouver

Some just climb out and others with the help of a few wing beats jump out..

They surprisingly don't seem to mind the frigid water or ice... Many are just sleeping on the ice.

A close combat demonstration by troops of the 4th Canadian Division during an open house event brought approving looks by the supervising instructor. To add a little extra realism, pepper spray was used on the fellow with the helmet. Alley-oop!

"Welcome to Dex's Diner, where we're proud to offer the best eats in the Coco Town streets!"

Dexter "Dex" Jettster was a male Besalisk cook with a diverse past hailing from the Deep Core planet of Ojom. He owned and ran "Dex's Donuts" and later "Dex's Diner". Shortly before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Jettster was running the diner in CoCo Town on Coruscant. Due to his wide experience, he was known as a reliable informant. Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Quinlan Vos often turned to him when they needed some information.
