Two different brands of coloured pencils. Stole this idea from Flickr contact Michelle, though I believe I may have tried this years ago. Getting a bit of cabin fever as winter wears down at a glacial pace.

Have a great week!

Que tengan una hermosa semana!

Sweet little pouring jug made by my dear and talented mother-in-law. Spoon made by my dear and talented husband. Eggs made by a chicken who I am sure is lovely too.

Feliz Viernes!

Lunch with Sophia Loren

Seen at my favorite Italian. Such a great idea and memory of the 1960's. Timeless beauty and iconic eyes makeup.

Thanks for stopping by, much appreciated!

The last two stanzas from a recent poem I wrote.

Mine Tonight

Beautiful one, you’re the girl for me

My heart burns bright with expectancy

I’ll do anything to make you see me

Take my hand, step into my dream

Heart to heart, and dream to dream

Come be the storm in the calm of me

Your eyes, your smile, your loving voice

Please listen now and make your choice

Beautiful one, be mine tonight

The sheet music is a page from "When You Wish Upon A Star". The guitar has no strings. I rescued it from the dumpster at work. It's cracked where the neck meets the body. The piano rack, which is sitting on our new Mennonite crafted dining table, is from the last piano I deassembled at work.

Sunday in the house, after a long walk in the snow.

'Don't hurry. When making tea you only have time. Let tea be a refuge, a genuine change of pace. Brewing your tea is part of drinking it and drinking part of your life. Let the tea gently stimulate you to reflect on how the smallest part touches and is touched by the infinite'.

My other world through my glasses

I deleted a poem I wrote, because, well, because I suck at this. Instead, let's just go with the whimsey of the photo.

The "Paladin" of my childhood dreams. Some of you know that I'm kind of obsessed with the 50s TV show, "Have Gun Will Travel". His symbol, of course was a black chess knight which decorated his gunbelt, holster, weapons, and his business card. I made a replica of his card which can be seen here.

The Flickr Lounge-Tell A Story

Did some grocery shopping today and stopped at Wegman's. They had some beautiful tulips in their floral department so I got myself some white ones. I just love these!

Unbeknownst to the small gathering of minions, that early autumn evening, someone was watching their every move. But, he was a benevolent, not malevolent force. He was, of course, the Great Min. The one who watches over minions the world over, and brings them peace, and prosperity.

I'm kinda in a I don't feel like saying anything mood, so, I'll, maybe post some more shots later with an explanation.

Or, is that, "Smile The Red"? Blue, really is my favourite colour, and taste, but, I do like to wear red. Dunno why. lol It's my introverted way of being extroverted, I guess. Red, also makes me feel thinner, and that's never a bad thing. lol

If you haven't done so, go visit my website www.amelieroy.com :) don't hesitate to give me any suggestion... xx

The Flickr Lounge-Changing Times

It was time to dress the dining room table for Spring!

This is what a trip to the Bulk Barn got me...oh and some chocolate but I ate that!!

I think it's clear that Linus isn't fond of the neighbour's dogs. They are noisy and they don't leave any doubt that they hate cats. For some reason all four of them tend to ignore Cleo completely whereas they bark and growl and behave like crazy whenever they see one of the boy cats. Linus prefers to stay at a safe distance, always near the cat flap which allows him to disappear in the house in case one the dogs should one day manage to climb over the fence.

365: The 2018 Edition-Night Photos

Decided to combine Christmas and Chanukkah in this photo.

Lit from below through a glass Tic Tac Toe board. I don't play chess, BUT, the knight is my favourite piece. I have two belt buckles from Grip6 that are a cutout of a knight.

Ice&snow by Rien Poortvliet

-------------------------

"These are turbulent times in 1566. Wandering through history, Rien Poortvliet brings daily life in the low countries/ The Netherlands/ to life"

Most of my recent shooting has been inside, due to the abundance of ice and snow in the area. Conditions are so bad in the woods, and peoples' yards, that deer have taken to walking down the middle of streets in small herds. It's almost impossible to walk on the snow and ice, so it's understandable. I have a bunch of coloured pencils that I've collected as props over the years. These are some of them. A little colour for the long winter.

Just for you, Barney.

Our Daily Challenge-On The Table

I haven't made a cake in ages. This one has lots of orange juice and zest in it. Even Stu liked it and he's not a cake person.
