In week 12 is er een set van 35 wagons beladen met ballast aanwezig geweest op de Hanzelijn oa. voor testen in de Drontermeertunnel.
Aan het einde van mijn rondje door de polder zie ik de set wagons staan met 2 Strukton G1206 Diesel locs ervoor. Duidelijk - de set wordt afgevoerd. Het wachten begint ....

In week 12 a set of 35 wagons loaded with ballast was present on the Hanzelijn. The wagons are used eg. for tests in the Drontermeertunnel.
At the end of ny standard trip through the Polder is see 2 Strukton G1206 Diesel locs in front of the wagons.
Crisp and clear - the set wagons will be towed away.
The waiting game begins ...

Sinds kort rijden er staalplakken-treinen naar Tata Steel uit Duisburg.
Naast de al eerder ingezette wagens type Sggrrs van VTG (containerwagens met frames voor vervoer van coils en staalplakken) worden er nu ook wagens Slmmnps van OnRail gebruikt uit de serie 33 80 4632 000-079. Dit zijn in 2004 door Defensie verkochte wagens. Oorspronkelijk werden deze ingezet voor het vervoer van ronde blokken staal, maar ze zijn later aangepast en voorzien van 4 rongen.

Achter deze ogenschijnlijk wat saaie rode zelflosser gaat een NS Fals type 2510 schuil! In 1998 zijn daarvan -samen met type 2520 en 2530- een aantal verkocht aan OnRail en deze zijn later terecht gekomen bij HGK voor het vervoer van steenzout.
35 wordt/werd gebruikt als landencode van de HGK voor wagens die alleen intern gebruikt worden. de 87 en 480 zijn dan ook niet volgens de RIV-bepalingen.

Als trein (3)57421 kwam vandaag een lege steenslagtrein uit Emmerich naar de Westhaven om beladen te worden. Als afwisseling op de vertrouwde bruine OnRail/Railpro en de incidentele blauwe Spitzke Fas'n betrof het dit maal enkele gele, bruine en een blauwe Fas/Uas/Ua.
Helaas was de trein op het buitenste spoor geplaats naast een kolentrein, zodat alleen met zon en riet tegen gefotografeerd kon worden.

DB Cargo 152 027 slowly passes through Duisburg Lotharstrasse with the "Nievenheimer" train 60708 (Nievenheim - Göttingen Gbf). with OnRail Shimns/Shimmns and Rs wagons, ACTS swapbodies on AAE Sgmmns wagons, and probably also Jaguar/Landrover containers on UK wagons, on July 9, 2019, 15:33.

Net zoals gister reed trein 49507 met twee "tweety's" namelijk Captrain's 189 202 & 189 203 met 43 beladen Onrail Falns via de "oude" route via Utrecht, Arnhem, Emmerich en verder naar Bottrop DE. Het weer viel eigenlijk een beetje tegen maar deze combinatie wilde ik toch niet zomaar voorbij laten rijden. 23-05-2013 Westervoort.

The only problem with the name, is that it isn't really that fast (in fact, it's a whistle stop train), and there aren't any polar bears anywhere between Cochrane or Moosonee (one has to go yet further north, and west or east, to find any in the wild). Other than that, it's a perfect name. ;)
