In the spotlights for Scarlet Sunday. Also? Far better when embiggened.
Bluebell week: surely not at an end? Well, mebbe so. Seven days, seven bluebells. Eight, if you count this one from the dino which is currently rocking the front page and rightly so. I've enjoyed myself immensely and so have the bluebells. They told me. What, your photos don't talk to you?

This October butterfly Only has One antenna, the result of living a good long life and a probable mishap with a predatory bird.

This is a shot of water reflections directly after I left the pool. The reflections stem from a banister surrounding the pool.

We just went through a few very cold days, so I was out there every few days replenishing the bird seed. I hung lots of suet out and tomorrow they will get their weekend peanuts. I felt so sorry for them throughout this cold snap. It was good to see the little critters feeding and keeping warm. With the snow I'm sure it's rather difficult to find much food.

Surprised me that this Pansy bloomed outside the backdoor. It's the only one that survived the winter it seems.

Funniest thing I've seen in a while. I leaned the mirror against the porch rails. The anole came by and caught his reflection in the mirror. He thinks it is another anole and goes right into attack mode. Eventually the anole reaches the top of the mirror, goes to the other side looking for the other lizard. LOL!

The Flickr Lounge-One Is The Loneliest Number
I was looking for a name for this photo and Lonesome Dove came to mind. Then it got me thinking about the t.v. miniseries that I watched when I lived in Canada called Lonesome Dove. When we moved to Albuquerque, NM Stu played in a few classical orchestras and The New Mexico Symphony was the last one he played in. A lovely lady name Jill became friendly with me. She played Cello in the orchestra. I got to know her mother and sometimes I would sit with her at the concerts. One day Jill's mom told me her husband was an actor. When she told me he played in Lonesome Dove I said "wow, I saw that up in Canada!" So that's why I've included the man's photo below, he was John Barks, Jill's father who played the first trapper in Lonesome Dove :) This is the first time I've seen his photo and Jill resembles him. :)
Out of a sea of lavender. Birds are eating the lavender, which signals to me the middle of summer! :( Enjoy!

A bit of local history in the making. This boat was built in Deland, Fl (Beresford Boatworks) in 1944 for the US Army. There were 29 ST-Tugboats (ST stands for Small Tug) built in Deland and approximately 5-550 for the war, but this one is the ONLY one of the entire fleet to return home. ST-479 Tiger was found in Stockholm, Sweden and made the journey home, first to Jacksonville and now it sits in Astor, FL. Weighing in at 140 tons, because it is made of steel, that trip was no small feat. Plans are to get it all the way to Deland and build a monument, but the Hurricanes of last year have delayed those efforts. Hats off to Dan Friend and Deland Historic Trust, Inc.
