ISKME’s Teachers as Makers Academy stimulates teachers’ creation of Open Educational Resources (OER), freely available online learning materials, in a collaborative format that covers the basics of finding and evaluating OER; and leads teachers through the design and remix of new projects to share. We view teachers as makers of learning and strive to support innovation in their teaching by leading them through a dynamic two-day Academy that stretches their creativity in terms of how and what they teach. Started in 2009, the Academy has been offered in San Mateo, California, Detroit, Michigan, and Queens, New York in conjunction with ISKME’s Design Lab at Maker Faire.

Kindergarten through 12 online learning was only available in abroad some time back. Where a teacher is assigned for students and focuses on her/his learning. But now on the Extramarks app students can find the entire K to 12 online learning material. Wilmington University has been named one of the nation’s best colleges for online learning by AffordableCollegesOnline.org (ACO), a college information, resources and rankings website. Wilmington University was recognized five times by ACO, which generates their rankings by analyzing cost and quality metrics for thousands of U.S. colleges with online degree programs.
National Community College Aerospace Scholars, or NCAS, is an interactive online learning opportunity highlighted by a three-day experience at NASA. Selected students are encouraged to study mathematics, science, engineering and computer science by interacting with engineers at different NASA centers. The project includes preliminary interactive Web-based activities and an onsite experience during the fall or spring at NASA (either Johnson Space Center, Marshall Space Flight Center, or the Jet Propulsion Laboratory).
Teams of students and NASA mentors planned and budgeted a simulated Mars mission, designed and constructed programmable rovers and created details for a fictional corporate infrastructure. They also delivered marketing presentations and demonstrated robotic functionality to a panel of NASA experts.
