Saturday Self Challenge: Music to the ears and makes me heart sing
In the final week of our visit to the southern states of Australia we've had record breaking cold temperatures, frost, heavy rains and grey skies.
After a night of rain, the skies cleared and the sun came out for just a little, causing the water drops on trees and grasses to sparkle like diamonds. I went for a walk with the camera,
but my attempts at photographing a wider scene were unsuccessful, so have just one little droplet to encapsulate the clear, crisp, freshness and birdsong the morning.

The sun touches the landscape of the Yosemite Valley. I was walking along the Merced River trying to get a different vantage point of this vista. The water was calm and I was excited about the reflections being captured on this evening. As I was walking along the riverbank, I had to keep pushing some limbs back out of the way so I could set up. I ended up getting bushwhacked by one in my right eye. Nothing serious but it could have been. It was one of those where your eye keeps watering for a long time. I dealt with it for a little bit and was very embarrassed to have it happen. Nobody really noticed but it was a simple reminder to stay on the path and be careful. It was just after this that we drove up to the Tunnel View to capture some moonrise images.

When you walk through shadows and chaos to finally reach some place of beauty, it is always a relief. It is right there, just one more step to take. Don't worry, the floor is not gonna break this time (for sure).
An old picture that I selected for the group Smile On Saturday for the subject of One Point Perspective. Taken on a pathway leading to the church in Fen Ditton Cambridge.
I found this challenge difficult... I was never able to get a drop to stay on a petal or leaf, so I thought using an eye dropper would work and it did...
If I would had used a tripod, it would have been a lot easier, but there I was, dripping with one hand and shooting with the other...
plus, using a Lensbaby, I had to manually focus. After many shots, I got this one and had fun doing it!!
I was going through my image flies for a competition in a few weeks time and I come across this one taken way back in 2005 with my very first digital camera the Dimage Minolta A1, so I thought I would post it!
One of the most picturesque Bristlecone Pines, White Mountains, Eastern Sierras, California. Some of the most ancient living trees in the world are found here and are dated to be over 4,000 years old.
