19 en 20 november stonden we in Roermond, in het Bourgondische Limburg! En dat was te merken :-) Zoveel mensen die overdonderd wegliepen uit de Cook&Co! Oneliners als: "turbo in je mond!" (over de Lemon Pepper Oil) en: "deze smaken zijn als dynamiet!" (over álles!) zijn natuurlijk om nooit meer te vergeten. En dat zullen we ook niet doen. Wat was het leuk! Hopelijk tot snel!

Oneliner giraffe in red conte crayon.
YEAR OF THE GIRAFFE : I got really inspired from looking at other artwork, so I thought I'd try my hand at a few charcoal oneliners.
After a few of those I started conte oneliner drawings.
So my first objective for February: doing charcoal and pastel giraffes.
And going beyond my comfort zone: changing the colors. We'll see what comes next.

Summary: With world press freedom in decline for the past decade, journalists and their sources are often threatened by governments, criminal organizations and others who monitor their mobile and online communication to see who is talking to the press. To help protect reporters and their sources, the Tor Project will use its vast network of volunteers to create a toolkit for journalists. The kit will include Tor Project’s existing secure web browser and anonymous upload utility, along new tools and training videos.

St. Patty's Day
Since we did our drinking the night before, and didn't get back in until 2:30am we weren't much for drinking the next day. Drew passed out on the floor, Tony hadn't drank and was DD, and Chris didn't sleep til 5. Pooped, simply put. Kyle was having a little green beer action and a fire so Tony and I went to hang with the Muranakas.

Day 1-Imaginary Creatures Redux. I needed a kickstart to get back into the every day creative habit for the giraffe mixed media month, so I am retaking Carla's online class. I think my control has improved a bit in my one-liners. The blob giraffes took quite a a bit of "corrective" drawing to complete, as I tried to design a consistent style for all three. Not as easy to do as if they could be anything they turned out to be. I am striving for a cross between control and freedom.

Oneliner: To help people and communities make better use of data collected by mobile phones
Summary: Behavio wants to open access to, and help make sense of, the data routinely collected by mobile phones. Their open source Android platform turns phones into smart sensors of people's real world behaviors and surroundings: how people use their phones, how they communicate with others, and environmental factors like sound, light and motion. As a result, Behavio can understand trends and behavior changes in individuals as well as entire communities, and help them understand and make use of this information. With News Challenge funding, Behavio will create a software development kit for programmers to build apps with smarter sensors; build a set of tools for journalists and others who want to see trends in community data; and launch a mobile application that allows individuals to explore data about their lives.
