olivetrees up to 1500 years old are waiting fo a new home- fed by drip irrigation. The Bonsai cut is the latest fashion- not everybody's taste of course. The trees find a new home in traffic circle centers, private gardens, public parks etc....... olivetrees seem to be able to survive just about any kind of abuse.

the flower remedy of ,'olive' is used for those times when you are feeling fatigued, both mentally and physically. olive helps to restore and replenish vitality and energy.
One of the curious things about olive trees around here is the way they seem to get the seasons wrong.
As you can see in this picture taken today, the olive tree has new light green leaves which have just formed as well as older ones. The tree behind is doing the autumn thing and preparing to lose all its leaves.

an older olive tree growing out of an ancient tree stump- and next to it a young tree is growing. Olive trees can survive just about anything- fire, severe trimming- except the backhoe!

These trees are probably over 500 years old-the exact date is difficult to determine without core samples- and the trunks of the trees are so gnarled and twisted.

it's been a hard week...well...maybe a week and half haha. i deicided to take some time and just shoot some pictures outside to relax. it was very healing :)
this is our Russian Olive tree, my tree. i love it. sitting under it, climbing it, taking pictures of it...the original owners of the house visit sometimes and the woman said she bought it for 50 cents!
