Scarred without a fight
No scare no fright
Careless is the night
No skin no sky
Crouching in my pain
My ghost my host
Nighmaring in vain
For fear is lost
Oh...
New eyes in a spin
To stare, ti scare
Unify my skin
No share, no spare
Blessed be the monster
Escape and seek
Greeting disaster
To shield, to shreek
Oh...
My scare my scar
My broken skin
See
Through me, see
Can't you see
Through me, see..

It is 8 degrees here this morning, with a wind chill of 15 BELOW... 'nuff said!...:)
Some of the gorgeous trees here would seem to be as old as the schoolhouse. East Avon NY. I could have spent an hour here.
Yes! Autumn is fading rapidly in to the approaching Winter but there are still a few small pockets of colour to be enjoyed.
these trees are some of the oldest in the world and are wickedly fascinating. with rich colors and a weaving flow they seem like something out of a tim burton film. located at 11k ft the setting is amazing with the sierra's spanning the horizon.
i'm in mammoth again and will be heading here within the next week. first up though is a day trip into yosemite. any must see's out there that i need to visit?
Abbotsbury Swannery in Dorset, near Weymouth, has become one of the most popular things to do for the family visiting Dorset. Located on the dramatic Dorset Coast, this unique natural wildlife habitat is also popular with film makers and has been used as a location for Harry Potter filming.

I liked this old tree as we trudged through the snow at the Grand Canyon.

She was a beauty--a gold 45 goddess for sure! A Gold 45 Goddess exalts the archetypal form of Athena--the Greek Goddess of wisdom, warfare, strategy, heroic endeavour, handicrafts and reason. A Gold 45 Goddess guards the beauty of dx4/dt=ic and embodies 45SURF's motto "Virtus, Honoris, et Actio Pro Veritas, Amor, et Bellus, (Strength, Honor, and Action for Truth, Love, and Beauty," and she stands ready to inspire and guide you along your epic, heroic journey into art and mythology. It is Athena who descends to call Telemachus to Adventure in the first book of Homer's Odyssey--to man up, find news of his true father Odysseus, and rid his home of the false suitors, and too, it is Athena who descends in the first book of Homer's Iliad, to calm the Rage of Achilles who is about to draw his sword so as to slay his commander who just seized Achilles' prize, thusly robbing Achilles of his Honor--the higher prize Achilles fought for. And now Athena descends once again, assuming the form of a Gold 45 Goddess, to inspire you along your epic journey of heroic endeavour.

There is an old tree called " Saikachi " around the Hozu river . It is growing for over 400 years. Saikachi was a useful tree in old days. Its beans were used instead of soap.
Its young leaves were eaten by people in famines. Now it is standing quietly.

On old gnarled tree has lost all its leaves. Now it sits bare next to a small pond where the last of its red leaves float upon the water's surface. Meanwhile a small horned owl has perched on base of a long broken off branch and stares back at the viewer.
Just a quick fall image that I made for the first day of fall in 2014.

If in London’s Soho, a walk around Chinatown is surely an essential part of the rites of passage of a Chinese Restaurant World-Wide Documentation addict. On a dull and very wet November morning, just before lunchtime got under way, el hombre roto found himself there, and found himself somewhat surprised at the density and fervour of activity - a ‘Chinatown’ there was essentially non-existent oh so many years ago, and the area pretty quiet on a Saturday morning, when he was an impoverished student at UCL just up the road, when Kwei’s, up between Warren Street and Goodge Street, but long gone now, was the handiest Chinese restaurant, and, indeed, one of the very first Chinese restaurants sampled by el hombre roto. So, on this dank grey November morning in London rain, jostled among and by the herds of meandering tourists, and by restauranteurs and deliverers going about their business, simultaneously juggling with his brolly and his waterproof TG2, el hombre roto was able to spend a quick few minutes of rushed documentation in the pouring rain while his beautiful (and mocking) companion relaxed and sipped a latte in the interior coziness of the handy Leicester Square McDonalds.
Rupert Court is well-photographed for a variety of reasons – it’s famous for a picture of the Beatles for example - but in terms of the CRWWDP, it contains the “C and R” restaurant for Chinese and Malaysian food, and, at the far end, as Rupert Court joins with Rupert Street, the ‘Old Tree’ for Taiwanese street food. El hombre roto guesses that these have surely been previously documented in this group, but also guesses that there is no harm in alternative perspectives.

Zamalek (also known as the Gezira Island) is one of Cairo’s well known Islands for it’s greenery and beautiful trees. The residential island has some very beautiful streets, old buildings, and villas making the Island one of Cairo’s favorite locations for expatriates.
This shoot was taken on a quiet street near the famous Cairo Tower which is one of Africa’s tallest structures and a must visit for tourists in Cairo as you can see a beautiful view of the entire city. Some of the very old beautiful trees of Zamalek can be seen in the pictures.
My third outfit collaboration with Vichi (Egypt’s finest streetstyle blog) and Cairo’s famous Sixtynine (A store who has a branch also in Zamalek with some great stuff) shot by my favorite fashion photographer Abu Samra.
I was wearing this gorgeous silver top that feels like a sweater from the inside (jersey material kind of). Since it’s a bit long I styled it with this black skirt toning the whole silver mood a bit down since it’s a day time outfit I didn’t want it to be too flashy.

Olive trees can become very old. It has been scientifically proven that they can reach 2000 years of age. I have no idea how old these trees are but it has got to be several hundred years.
Apparently olive oil is not for everybody but I simply love it. The local farmers here product the most exquisite oil and we use it for all sorts of things but foremost in salads dressings and on bread. Put little oil on a plate with some herbs, salt and pepper, take your bread and dip it lightly in the oil, add local cheese or prosciutto then finally top with ripe figs. Fantastic!
This is the first of a series of photographs and for those of you interested in the process it is captured using the bokeh panorama technique. Basically it means stitching together many captures with a shallow DOF. In this case I believe it was around 12.
I am now also have a Google+ presence for my photography. Please visit me on Google+.

A much loved Monterey Cypress tree had to be cut down for health and safety reasons but, rather than waste the iconic tree, Dublin City Council commissioned the UK tree sculptor Tommy Craggs to create a work of art from the remaining tree stump.
Chainsaw sculptor Tommy Craggs recycles fallen trees or trees felled for tree management reasons. Some of his works can be purchased but others are permanent installations carved from stumps. Tommy’s work made the news in 2012 when members of the public reported that a "guerrilla sculptor" had carved three stumps in a forest in the UK. They were, in fact, commissioned sculptures created by Tommy Craggs.
The piece shown in my photographs was inspired by the wildlife found in the nature reserve on the nearby Bull Island and in St. Anne’s Public Park.
