This picture was taken later, in the afternoon on the same day. This osprey had a large fish, and I had to wait, till he allowed the fish to hang, before I took this picture, half of the fish has already been eaten ...... please compare this with the picture before this one, as we are trying to solve the mystery of that osprey.... the same red oak serves as a dining area...

3 edits of the same shot of the old oak at Nygren Wetland Preserve. This tree is used in part of the preserve's logo, but it was looking pretty dead when I saw it the other day.
These exposed english oak jettied rafters, spandrel bracket and bressemer plate (carved with spiral leaf design) date back to the early 1500s and the house itself is listed and protected. Much more ornamental timber carving can be seen inside the house. This is only one of many beautiful historic cottages and houses in the north part of the county of Essex.
