These old log tobacco barns are in Wilkes County. Most of the tobacco today is cured in metal bulk barns.

This old mill called Tharpe's Mill is on Tharpe's Mill Rd in Wilkes County NC on the Big Bugaboo Creek. It was also called Burcham Milling Co in 1918.

Not my picture, but taken 'back in the day' when the Mill was up and running. Great Grandaddy diverted part of Dry Run to flow next to the Mill to turn this wheel, supplying his own electricity to the mill and maybe even to the Old Home Place.
