The sun is just out of shot but low enough to throw a lot of light onto the river.

The Bridge Walkers assemble on the north side of the Erskine Bridge at Old Kilpatrick with a pipe band from Bearsden providing a rousing number of traditional tunes to start the proceedings.

The weather was very kind for the 25th Anniversary Erskine Bridge Crossing at Old Kilpatrick playing fields. Several hundred walkers gave of their time to raise money for Christian Aid.

What you don't get a sense of is the strength of the wind; it made it hard to keep to your line on the climbs.

The success of the Christian Aid Bridge Walk would not happen were it not for the generous donation of time from the volunteers who make sure the walkers feel welcome and cheer them on.
