Rio my 12 year old ESS.
Just before Rio's 12th birthday she under went some surgery to remove some rather large Lipoma's that where troubling her , to our surprise she has made an excellent recovery and is back enjoying doing the things she loves!
I tried to do a group shot but everyone was acting goofy, posing poorly, not sitting still--so I said, "Everyone! Out! Floyd ONLY!"
Because you can always count on Floyd to not be a film-waster.
Churrie turned 15 this weekend. Churrie came to us and our dog village in December of 2007, adopted through the Second Chance League Sled Dog Rescue organization. She's become quite frail, but we're doing our best to keep her warm and comfortable. We know she won't be with us much longer.
We had quite a slumber party for her, so more instant pics to follow. :-)

Abused, Abandoned Jungle Dogs.
Mr Boney, an elderly statesman,
jungle warrior an top snake dog.
He's looking over into a new part
of the river jungle where Pumpkin is
thrashing about in uncharted territory.
Not bad for an old dog with one eye.
The Worm was the top snake dog
but she was also an alien hiding
in a dog costume, true story ;-)
A small slice of our jungle life.
FYI, his tail does curl forward.
It's not a long stub as seen here.
Thank You.

He's been crying lately. I don't quite know if it's mental or physical, or both. Here we're on our way to the vet to try and figure it out.
We have an old Golden retriever in logement for a few days.
She is so very sweet.
Maybe wants to play, but she is to old for playing games. She sleeps most of the time.
Out for walk with chum and his now very elderly but utterly loveable hound, a rescue (former racer) greyhound. Old chap still enjoys a walk, and he loves the company (and attention and cuddles, he is very affectionate), but he's only up to short walks these days. Quick snap of him pausing during the walk, then of him lying down in the back ot the car afterwards to rest.

Tinker-Bell being silly when we were at
the monkey temple on the 3rd of May.
Tinker-Bell is 8 yrs old and by the end
of this year she will be 9 years old ;-)
Her entire black coat is salt and pepper.
This morning at 4:30AM, the 5th of May, it
was already 88 F. Humidity is off the charts.
By 5:47AM we were in the mud cobra field.
Hooligans went bananas racing around
playing grab ass, doing back flips and
general rowdiness took place ;-0---
Big Thank You goes out to everyone of
you guys that supports this adventure.
You have saved many abused an abandoned
jungle dogs of a horrific painful and agonizing
slow death. The difference you've made in each
dogs life is phenomenal. .Thank you all so much.
Thank You.

Hi folks, tudo bom?
I'm on a trip through Minas Gerais, Brazil, in a small town of less than 7000 inhabitants. A quiet place where I can carry my camera in my hand without fear of being mugged and I had the happiness of making a shot of this old dog by enjoying the sun in the middle of the street.

OK here's the deal ---
Mr Boney and Mr Monkey are excited.
Please notice his new Māori Tattoos.
Next photo, #2, tells the story why ;-)

Yesterdays' long trip to immigrations' took
the wind right out of our sails, for real ;-0
Today.
At 7:AM I'm woken up by Pumpkins deep
baritone talking within inches of my face.
Usually even Pumpkin is up around 5:AM.
I staggered around for 9 minutes then right
back to bed until 11:AM. No# 1 took care of
all the dogs breakfast and other stuff too ;-)
At 11 I ate some toast then went back to bed
until 3:57PM. Fatigue had taken over by the
time we had returned home late yesterday.
Last Night.
Both of us just took a quick shower, fed
the dogs, ate some rice then went to bed.
This Morning.
The plan was, to rise real early and head out
to the nuns where no# 1 would be dropped
off. She then would go with the nuns and
monk to help them along the way. MKM
had to go to the gov hospital today.
It's a long grueling ride in a very
uncomfortable truck with a set
of benches on both sides ;-0
Well we didn't make it cuz no# 1
was and is just as burned out
as me. Fatigue got to us !
Yesterday was sunny, hot and windy.
Today we've had the same same ;-)
That means for the next week or 2
all the stuff packed and moved to
higher ground will be unpacked
and moved back into the house.
The river has dropped about 15 feet.
The bank on the other side has heavy
erosion and has been undermined to
where some trees have fallen into the
river. Down south there is still plenty
of storms and flooding. There ya go.
Am I going back to the mud cobra field soon ? No.
Maybe this weekend but not for a few days with
no energy and so much to get ready for. Family
will be showing up in 2 days so there's that too.
Feels like I'm starting to babble.
That means back to bed for now.
Thank You.

After hiking for 7 miles ,we all had a rest......apart from Rio who still had the energy to play! Considering she will be 11 years old in a few months she does remarkably well.
.
Well in reality there is no tulips here
but there is a bunch of other stuff
to tiptoe around in the m/c field.
Old Man Boney Baloney first climbed
into the sidecar as if saying I've had
enough an just needs to ride along.
But, The Monkey and Pumpkin Pie
went racing past and he couldn't
resist the temptation so off he
went chasing the other two
misfits. Soon Pumpkin Pie
came back and climbed
into the sidecar and
Mr Boney had to
walk a ways ;-0
Pumpkin is a very clever girl.
She's always setting the other
dogs up for something while
she sits back and laughs ;-)-
So here's the deal ---
6:AM rolled around and Pumpkin is
standing next to the bed doing her
early morning wakeup call. Then
she sticks her cone under my
hand and starts in wiggling.
Then there's a bunch of
deep talking in-order
to get me moving.
Grudgingly I slid out of bed and let
her outside. Did a quick check on
all my body parts and voted to
stay home today due to the
condition my condition
is in. Climbed back
into bed for two
more hours.
The run out to the temple in-order to
give all the dogs their monthly shots
has been moved to Friday, because.
Maybe, possibly, there's a chance a run
to the m/c field can happen tomorrow.
Enjoy your life while you still have one.
Thank You.

Dazee Mai (I didn't come up with that spelling) has been a part of our family for about ten years now. I call her a bagle because she is part Bassett and part Beagle. She's fat. She's slow. She's very lazy. She's very lovable...unless you need her to hurry! She can move if there is food involved...especially bread. I believe she would pass up a steak for a piece of light bread.

Being silly with No# 1 while "The Worm" watches us.
Was planning to leave for The Dog Palace just after
5AM but some other dog issues have come up.
Maybe this afternoon we can make it out to see Tri-Pod.
No# 1 says I'm a "really mean old man".
"What happened to the young monkey
boy with no brain 4 thinking ?" I ask.
She thought about that for awhile then replied.
"OK, You mean man on Monday, all time after
you monkey boy, no brain 4 thinking ever"
I think she still likes me, what say you ? ......;-)~~~
.
Thanks for stopping by and hope to upload something
this afternoon.
Thank You.

Just a short note -
Early this morning it became evident that
there would be no run to the m/c field.
Monsoon rains have been falling
all night and is still falling !
Many roads are flooded and that
includes a few major ones too !
So we are not sure when we will
be able to travel to the temple.
Hopefully it will be real soon.
No# 1 is in contact with the nuns.
Dogs are all wet but well fed too.
Same same here, wet
dogs with full bellies.
Our long driveway is a mess.
River has breached the banks
again, not good, life in paradise.
Is what it is ;-)
Thank You.
