I lent my old Monopoly set to someone and it was left for a long time in a very damp basement, so all but the figures were destroyed, and I had to buy a new set - HSoS!

I wonder what Ditte thinks when she watches the sunset so peacefully.

Elbereth Taivas (March 30th 2005 - July 8th 2021)

After a normal day, with a walk both morning and evening, my 'naughty Miss Taivas' went downhill rapidly from late yesterday evening and overnight. This morning I knew she hadn't got long and sadly I said goodbye to her at the vet's just two hours later. I took this photo at home, I'm glad she looks peaceful, just like she is sleeping.

There's no doubt she will keep them all in order over the rainbow bridge.

We went to Brighton on Monday. I was sitting on the sea front waiting for Phill who had walked down to the sea when I felt I was being watched. Looked around and saw this old fella looking at me

Taivas looking very seious in the rain, sat by my dwarf Japanese Maple in its glorious autumn colour.

When I was young we would play all day now the years have gone and I sleep my time away dreaming of you.

Taivas spends most of her day snoozing now - once she's had her breakfast and a walk. She will be sixteen at the end of this month.

Taivas has been a little unwell the last few days with an upset tummy so I wasn't going to ask her to pose for a photo. So here she is, fast asleep - which is how she spends most of her time now when at home.

Trying to get something a little different of my old girl this month I held my phone down low as she came towards me and kept the shutter pressed for burst mode. It took 16 shots in a couple of seconds which gave me a few to choose from.

A second shot this month for Taivas' project. Here is her shadow strutting along on our morning walk.

Don't be fooled by the colors, it doesn't feel like Spring yet as the temperatures are freezing in NYC. But, the old man enjoyed the scents nevertheless, a warm jumper on.

On another note, we're leaving for France and the last few days have been emotionally exhausting. From a sitter cancelling last minute to the worry of leaving old dogs like him, not to mention the thought of seeing our old parents after two years of pandemic, an old house we need to fix up and sell... Let's just say we're not really looking forward to that trip.

Gracefully growing older.

Squeezing in a second shot of Taivas this month, just a quickie with my mobile after our walk in the rain this morning.

I was out in the garden taking my photo for Umbrella Day while Taivas was pottering around when I had the bright idea of seeing whether she'd sit underneath it. I din't really expect her to but she surprised me - she's not looking happy about it but at least she is looking at the camera.

But only when it's not overwhelming and these days, it's been hard... Loving our new terrace overlooking nature.

I snapped this with my mobile as we were walking through the fallen leaves.

My dog, Seamus in spring maple leaves.

At 13 Rio still enjoys her walkies to the beach but now, some assistance is required to help her navigate the many steps that lead to Gwenver beach.

I made Taivas some lapphund shaped and heart shaped peanut butter cookies for her 16th birthday. She didn't want to wait and after her eating a few smaller cookies without me getting a good shot I settled for this one. At least she is looking at the cookies rather than grabbing them!

A quick portrait of Taivas is the park this morning.

My eldest and youngest springer's .....almost a decade separates them in age , but they do have so much fun together on the beach....

She came to the beach with two boys, who might have been 12 and 14, then sat in this spot for almost two hours, moving only her head as she watched them boogie-board.

Dogs can look quite funny...

Ditte found a bucket and is very proud! She is still so playful despite her age! I am grateful for every day with her!

Taivas in the park this morning - I lifted her up to pose on this fallen tree trunk which came down in the strong winds a few weeks ago.
