Boney Baloney standing guard
in the jungle next to our home.
We are still trying to coordinate

Happy 9th Birthday, Tessa!
I cannot believe it's been this long already. Thankfully, she's not quite as weathered as the building. Yet.

Abused, Abandoned Jungle Dogs.
I remember this photo session well.
This is in the jungle off to the east of
our home. Pumpkin Pie is up on a pile
of branches covered with jungle vines.
It's a mound about 2-3 meters high with
critters inside. Pumpkin has her ear down
on the pile listening to movement. Mr Boney
flew into the air and came down at the base of
the pile coming up shaking a good size cobra !
Dropped the the snake and it slithered back under
the large mound of rotting foliage. Both dogs stayed
right there for another 30 minutes before calling it quits.
No doubt the snake had some nasty injuries an didn't last.
Another slice of life at our jungle home, it never stops ;-)---
Thank You.

Kizzie had severe hip problems as a pup and we were told her life expectancy was about 4. Here she is having a well- deserved car ride and short walk on the downs to celebrate her 14th birthday...happy birthday Kiz!
My sister's old black lab, Hoss, looked a little unimpressed at me sticking a camera in his face for this picture. It really does show off his lazy, sleepy personality though. lol

Every day I wonder how many more days I'll have with my good old Pickle dog.
This was shot looking in the glass door between my office and a small second story deck. The reflection is of the fall trees and deck, we were having a bit of a windstorm and the leaves were swirling off of the trees. That's what I was trying to capture, but then I turned and Pickle was looking out, he follows me a lot now, and I saw --- there was the photo.
That old black dog again in one of his favorite places. He used to run through the water, now he just gets his paws wet and stands there looking like he has run for 2 hours... He got out of the car 10 mins ago!
After we finished our bike tour with “Portugal Best Cycling” a.k.a. “Turaventur,” we had a couple of days at a quiet beach community of Salema, Portugal. A short bus ride takes you to Sagres - the Southwest corner of Europe.

“Portugal Best Cycling” a.k.a. “Turaventur” - this week long trip involves (mostly) easy cycling from village to village with plenty of interesting stops, with a focus on food, wine, and, of course, castles. We stayed at a different place nearly every night and had an excellent guide - Jorge.
Matera (Italian pronunciation: [maˈtɛːra], locally [maˈteːra] (About this soundlisten); Materano: Matàrë [maˈtæːrə]) is a city in the region of Basilicata, in Southern Italy. It is the capital of the province of Matera. The town lies in a small canyon carved out by the Gravina River.
Known as la città sotterranea ("the underground city"), its historical centre "Sassi" contains ancient cave dwellings. The exact date when these were first occupied, and the continuity of subsequent occupation, are questions that scholars still debate. Sassi, along with the park of the Rupestrian Churches, was awarded World Heritage Site status by UNESCO in 1993.
Matera is one of the 2019 European Capitals of Culture, together with the Bulgarian town of Plovdiv.[4]
Old and grey, but the best part of her day was when we came running to take her for a walk. She became a puppy again for a short while. She would run a few meters with us, happy as could be, before having to slow down. Because of her old age we couldn't walk very far but it was amazing to see the happiness in her eyes.

For those of you who weren't here
back in 2013 I'll walk ya through
this one. Meet Mama-san #1.
This is Mamas Mom. She was a
great dog, one in a million ;-)-
Taken under a triple canopy jungle
where light can be, and often is,
very allusive most of the time.
The off white building covered
in mold is where Baby Mama
was first found. And yes,
the rest as you know,
is history ;-)---
Thank You.

This is what Zoomer is looking
at in the previous photograph.
I think Mama is 10 going on 11 this fall.
Now that is way old for a jungle dog !
Lucky she's living her golden years
right here at our place and gets
2 play with the monkey boy ;-)
Last night I left the peoples clinic
around 7:PM. No# 1 still has me
under house arrest for a few
more days and nights ;-(-
The dogs stare at me wondering
what the big problem is. Why we
aren't out playing in the field ?
They'll get over it when we do
make it to the mud cobra field.
Maybe tomorrow, maybe next week.
But I believe first no# 1 has plans for
her brother to take us to the temple.
Right now I'm just a head on a post.
Even my job as k9manservant has
temporarily been put on hold ;-0
I do have plenty of photos in the archives.
Thank You.

Tomorrow, which will be Sept 23 we are
planning a run out to the monkey temple.
Now there is no guarantee due to the
flooding but if we can that is the plan.
Some roads around here still have
over a meter of flood water but
it is also high tide right now.
If we can't make it tomorrow we
will just keep trying until we can.
Early this morning, like at day
break I was up getting ready
to take the dogs over to the
mud cobra field. No#1 said
that I looked not good and
to stay home. Went back to
bed and woke-up at 10:AM.
Guess after dealing with the floods
I am a little bit tired and needed
some extra sleep. If we go out
to the temple tomorrow first
we must stop at the dog
clinic and pickup some
more injectable meds.
4 of the temple dogs will receive 3 injections
while everybody else will be given 1 injection.
If, and that's if we can make it tomorrow
it will be a very long day of travel and
interacting with all of the dogs ;-)
And of course it will be documented
and shared with all of you guys here.
Thank You.

Our Elders.
Churrie turned fifteen in January. Her back legs have given out. I know she won't be around much longer. Her head is still clear and her will is strong, so I'm doing my best to keep her comfortable.
In the way back is Frodo, we are just three days from his 17th birthday. He's doing great, very healthy.
Wesley (left) and Musky (right) at 11 and 10, I do not consider elders. Both are very active but still enjoy all the comforts of the indoors.
.
4 those of you who have asked in the past
to see a photo of Ms MiMI, here she is ;-)-
It's 5:PM Saturday night and I'm getting a
few items ready for an early run over to
the mud cobra field tomorrow, Sunday.
MiMi is at least 10 years old and loves
to play with The Monkey and Boney.
Obviously she prefers the boys ;-)-
Catch ya on the rebound.
Thank You.
