He is approaching his 17th birthday in early May, but last year, the vet noticed all sorts of old cat problems. He has cataracts, is on thyroid medicine and eating wet food - and that makes him very happy. Recently, he had a sore over his right eye. We are watching it and hoping it goes away.

She will be 16 next week and is starting to feel her age.

The patch just below his eye is the result of an infected tooth. He is happy to be home and is keeping close to me. Every time I take a picture of him, I think it may be the last.

Louise WAS a special needs cat up for adoption. I have decided to keep her. Actually, I have had her for almost 3 years now. She is still special needs because of her age. Now approaching 18, I believe. Hard to tell for sure since she was a stray. She just had extensive dental work done. Pulled 4 teeth, and 4 fell out while they were working on her.

My mom made Trotski a sweater to wear in his last few months because he was getting matted (because he couldn't groom his mane anymore!) so I had to shave chunks off of him randomly. He was a mess.

Lola my lovely old lady.

It says the cat died in 1838, aged 20: a very elderly cat! I believe this is a replacement stone, as there used to be another identical stone cat sitting on the ground under the yew tree, as though it was discarded when this replacement was made. I hope it has not been thrown out.

Buddy Jim is 18 years old. Doesn't move around as quickly as he used to, but still very healthy for the age.
