Most of you who follow Charlie's fb page would know Bella isn't doing too great.

She has showed some improvement from Wednesday but is still well not herself.

I have been looking at photos of Bella when she was young and even 4 years ago she did not have any grey on her face but this last year has seen that grey become more prominent.

I have never thought of Bella as old as she has not ever slowed down. Now though she has and i can see that my little pup is now an old lady.

She is 14 and just last week I had photos of her running and her and I did a 8.5k bush walk. She thought it was easy, I however am still sore from it.

She died of old age peacefully last night

We had time to say goodbye

She was a big part of my life and I will miss her very much

I know she meant something to some of you too so I wanted to share something to remember her

Went to a farm the other day. This sweet lady was very old.... you could see it in her tired eyes. She was still a beauty, though!

This rose is gone today due to old age, high wind and heavy rain

Thou shalt remain"

Looking Back 100 Years.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.

Delville Wood Cemetery is the third largest British & Commonwealth cemetery on the Somme battlefield.

There are 5,523 First World War British and Commonwealth casualties buried here. Of these 3,593 are unidentified. Most of the burials in the cemetery were casualties who died in the months of July, August and September during the heavy fighting of the 1916 Battle of the Somme.

WW1. The Somme, South African soldiers a long way from Home.

From 14th July to 20th July 1916 the 1st South African Infantry Brigade, Comprising 121 officers and 3,032 other ranks, was engaged in one of the bloodiest battles ever fought by South Africans. Under command of the 9th Scottish Division, the Brigade was ordered to attack Delville Wood and to hold it ‘at all costs’. For five nights and six days the Brigade fought against units of the German Fourth Army Corps. Outnumbered and attacked from three sides, the South Africans held the wood until they were overrun and virtually destroyed.

On the 20th of July, six days after entering the wood, Coronal Thackeray, himself wounded, walked out of Delville Wood with 2 wounded officers and 140 other ranks, the only survivors.

My dad walks away after a last farewell.

COVID restrictions locked me out of his nursing home through much of 2020 but the staff eventually let him come out on the porch and sit with me if we both wore masks.

Then even that had to stop, because of cold weather and rising contagion.

This September day was the last time we really spoke, the last time I think he really knew who I was.

the kindness of strangers - Max and I went to Enfield housing department today. He hasn't given up on trying to find a private landlord, or on letting agents, but their blanket no DSS is dispiriting and it is essential for him to know his options. Uncomplaining, he was not feeling well, we went and waited in a queue to be let into the council housing office. We had been tipped off to arrive early. We were number 9 and seen within 2 hours - it's horrendous to think when or if number 50 would have been seen. The staff at the office were all kind and friendly - such a pleasure not to be judged.

Peter, after a shaky start, has blossomed throughout the day. His back is on the mend. I didn't have a Roxy day, because I didn't want to leave him alone for such a long time, in case for instance, he couldn't manage to get downstairs for lunch! He is now mobile, but slow - and has to take things easily . . .

Deep in the woods the wounded red chair eerily sits lifeless under the forest boughs but they cannot stoop down to lift it up from its bleak situation and so it succombs to time

Old age comes suddenly, like snow. One morning when you wake up, you realize that everything is white. ( jules Renard )

Although Nymphs would never die of old age nor illness, and could give birth to fully immortal children if mated to a god, they themselves were not necessarily immortal, and could be beholden to death in various forms.

One of the last few photos for my mythology book! I still need to shoot the cover which I'm anticipating will be the hardest to set up so far, as well as a few filler photos of hands, objects etc.

P.S I've not dyed my hair, it's just a very convincing long blonde wig!

My son & I experienced another big loss in our lives, after just losing my parents whom I took care of. We had to put down our beloved dog Sammy. She was 14 yrs old & died of old age.

This sweet half lab, half cattle dog fell into our laps pretty much. I'm friends with a foster mom for the rescue called Cold Nose Warm Heart Rescue. Max was available for pickup right after Easter! He is such a blessing & wonderful addition to our family!

This slide was under exposed, very grainy and suffering from old age, so Photoshop and Topaz de-noise had a real struggle to get an acceptable record shot. Cropped a bit as well. I like the former Suburban platform on the Up side, that served Moorgate trains in the old days

Old age and covid shutdowns have cut down on my active shooting but at the same time, provided opportunity to revisit and rework some of my earlier photography. This is one l converted to black and white for a different look and feel.

This is part of the large Butternut tree in our yard, which I shot through our window.

Filled with images from our youth to our passions and our fears in old age, there are so many postings to see here in the Krog Street Tunnel in the Cabbage Town area of Atlanta.
